Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich has got the entire football world talking – including Premier League legend Alan Shearer. After Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern agreed terms on an £86.4m transfer to the German champions, Kane was set to fly out to Munich to undergo a medical and sign a four-year deal where he is set to earn £480,000-a-week. But Friday morning brought a fresh twist in the saga, after it emerged that Spurs had revoked Kane’s permission to fly out to Germany. Shearer jokingly tweeted a photoshopped image of him dressed as a pilot, captioned: “Come on Harry it’s time to go!” Kane is 47 goals away from matching Shearer’s record, and has openly spoken about his desire to break it. Shearer, too, has predicted that if Kane remains in the Premier League he could break the record. But Kane, who only has 12 months left on his Spurs contract, also seems keen on moving to Germany and finally get the chance to compete for silverware. Spurs stress that Kane is on course to fly over to Munich, despite suggestions the deal could be in limbo. Three huge crocodiles have been found living underground in horrifying scenes. The first snapping croc was pulled out by catchers, but as they tried to bring the huge reptile under control a second slithered out of the concrete. A third crocodile is then seen disguised hiding under the cracked ground as well. Locals in India first heard a strange noise and the crack turned out to be huge crocs. As the animal makes its way further out of the rubble and underground, another croc jumps out from underneath it. The third crocodile can be seen slightly under the rubble, just showing the top of his back but not moving. The person filming then jumps off the ground as the smaller crocodile runs beneath them. The clip, shared on (@mksinfo.official), has gained 903,000 views as well as 46,400 likes and thousands of comments. It comes after a 29-year-old footballer was eaten alive by a crocodile in Rio Cañas, Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica. Jesus Alberto Lopez Ortiz, nicknamed ‘Chucho’ was taking a dip in the river to cool off when the horrific ordeal took place. When a statement announcing the sudden death of Lil Tay, a 15-year-old viral rapper who rose to fame as a nine-year-old on Instagram, was posted to her account earlier this week, it led to an outpouring of grief and sorrow. But that has given way to confusion and relief in equal measure, after TMZ reported that she is now very much alive. In a statement from Tay’s family, she said: “I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken, and struggling to even find the right words to say. “It’s been a very traumatizing 24 hours. All day yesterday, I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones all while trying to sort out this mess.” Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Lil Tay rose to fame as the “World’s Youngest Flexer” who rapped and showed off a lavish lifestyle across social media aged just nine, garnering 3.2m followers on Instagram. However, the account went dormant in 2018 after a video was posted online in which she appeared to be coached by someone off-camera, whom many suspected was her brother Jason. Tay was also reportedly caught in the middle of a custody battle between her parents, Angela Tian and Christopher Hope, which had been going on in court since about 2018, around the same time the influencer’s account went dormant. The account resumed briefly that October with bizarre and concerning activity, including a video of the girl crying that was posted and then taken down. The posts were later scrubbed, but led to allegations of abuse by her father, amid the custody dispute. In 2021, activity briefly restarted on the account, with several posts accusing Christopher Hope of physical and mental abuse and of stealing all of Lil Tay’s money. Hope denied the allegations and sent a cease and desist letter to Instagram. An unsigned statement posted to the account on Wednesday said the star’s death at 15 was “sudden and tragic” and “entirely unexpected”. It also said her older brother, Jason Tian, who had at one point been in control of her account, had also died, and that both deaths were under investigation. Both Lil Tay’s father and former manager had refused to confirm or deny her death, with the latter calling for “cautious consideration” in handling the news. Speaking to Insider, her father, Christopher Hope, declined to comment on the Instagram post and declined to answer whether his daughter was alive. Her former manager, Harry Tsang, also declined to confirm or deny her death. “Given the complexities of the current circumstances, I am at a point where I cannot definitively confirm or dismiss the legitimacy of the statement issued by the family,” Tsang told Insider on Wednesday. In a follow-up 24 hours later, Tay was thanking Meta for helping to get her Instagram account back, and had removed the fake death statement. She said: “My Instagram account was compromised by a 3rd party and used to spread jarring misinformation and rumors regarding me, to the point that even my name was wrong. Tiffany Gomas, the American Airlines passenger who went viral for her "not real" rant, has spoken out for the first time. For the blissfully unaware, a distressed Gomas was filmed leaving her seat and heading towards the front of the plane. She pointed at a passenger and shouted: "That mother f***er back there is not real." Since the 2 July incident, there have been conspiracies, TikTok trends and even merch dedicated to Gomas' phrase. But, the reason behind her meltdown remains up in the air. After weeks of online speculation and attempts to uncover the indentity of the passenger, she was eventually identified as a 38-year-old marketing executive from Texas, who owns the firm Uppercut Marketing. Gomas has since broken her silence, calling her life "frightening" since the footage "blown up". The Sidemen are back with another massive game for charity this year, and it’s set to be bigger than ever before. The collective have hosted a match to raise money for a good cause since back in 2016, and last year’s event proved to be one of the most entertaining moments in the YouTube calendar. The game was hosted at Charlton Athletic's The Valley. It saw The Sidemen beat the YouTube Allstars 8-7, with the event raising an incredible £2m for charity. This year’s Sidemen match will take place on Saturday, September 9. A kick-off time has yet to be confirmed, but it’s expected to be at 3pm. Where is it being held? The 2023 match will take place at 62,500-capacity London Stadium in Stratford, London. Given the success of last year, it’s not surprising to see the event take place in a bigger venue. Popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat has expressed his disappointment at fans who rioted during his New York giveaway. On 5 August, Kai held a huge giveaway at Union Square that saw gaming consoles given away. More than 6,000 people were said to have attended the event which soon turned sour. Footage showed teens damaging cars, throwing objects, fighting and blasting fire extinguishers. Kai was escorted away by security as crowds became increasingly chaotic. He was later charged with inciting a riot, with a court date of 19 August. The NYPD arrested 65 people, including 30 minors, on counts from disorderly conduct to assaulting a police officer. "Being from New York, it has been my dream to want to give back to the community that made me who I am," Kai told his subscribers. "But after Friday, I’ve come to realise the amount of power and influence that I have on people." Pokémon has raised eyebrows and left people in hysterics with the design of the new Wiglett soft toy and it’s easy to see why. In the Pokémon world, Wiglett was announced as a new convergent species related to Diglett for the 2022 Pokémon Scarlet and Violet role-playing video games. It is a type of Garden Eel Pokémon that, with its long cylindrical length, has led to some unfortunate comparisons with the release of a new plushie toy. The Wiglett plushie is sold online by the Pokémon Center, but the long toy has caught the eye for all the wrong reasons as people have suggested it looks like a phallus. The website explains, “this long Poké Plush version of the Garden Eel Pokémon is ready to stand tall as part of your plush collection, perched on your couch, coffee table, or bookshelf”. Bobbi Althoff has been taking over social media platforms across the globe lately with her hilariously awkward interviews on her Really Good Podcast. If you're an avid TikToker, you'll be familiar with the 26-year-old from California and you most likely would have seen snippets of her viral Drake interview that took place in a bed. But where did it all begin? Althoff pivoted from parenting influencer to podcaster earlier this year, with her very own Really Good Podcast. "I got the idea in April to start a podcast," she told Today's Jenna Bush Hager and guest co-host Justin Sylvester. "I’ve always done this character, which is dry humour. And I was like, I’m just going to bring her along for a podcast." The mother-of-two said she made a TikTok video saying she would transfer anyone $300 (£235) if they put her in contact with a celebrity. She has since gone off to interview the likes of Rick Glassman, businessman Mark Cuban and rapper Lil Yachty. A man discovered he has a whole second family after taking a DNA test just for the fun of it and uncovering a long-held secret. The man was left utterly shocked by the results of an at-home DNA test, ordered on a whim, that uncovered his grandmother’s past. In a post on Reddit, the anonymous man said he had heard stories of people uncovering family secrets, but truly believed it would not be him as he thought he knew all there was to know about his family. The man explained: “We had family secrets - my grandfather had been married before and had a child, my great aunt had a child who she had adopted. As far as we knew all those secrets were now known.” But, after he submitted his DNA, he soon found out there was a lot more to his family history. He continued: “One day I got a message from a woman saying she couldn't figure out how we were matched and I looked and realised there was a group of matches that didn't make sense. I ask my parents but no one seemed any the wiser. “One day DNA painter just clicked and I realised my mum's dad wasn't the person we thought it was. My grandmother is still alive, nearly 90. I spoke to her and told her I knew. She has dementia but her memory of these events are crystal clear.” The poster revealed that his mother was the result of a holiday romance between his grandmother and another man. The man had wanted to marry her, but the Redditor's grandmother had told him she was not in love with him. When the news finally came out due to the DNA test, it was difficult for the family to comprehend, but there were some positives alongside it. He explained: “It was a very tough month, my mum cried a lot but there was a huge relief too. The man she thought was her dad wasn't very nice to her and treated her differently to her siblings. Although it didn't make it right it did allow her to at least know why.” He added: “I am so glad this came out whilst my Nan was alive. She was able to tell us a lot of detail we would never have known. In all honestly it's brought a lot of peace to my mum and it's worked out well but it was still a huge shock which I couldn't have predicted.” Although his story had a relatively positive ending, the Redditor warned others about the possibility of finding out family secrets and urged people to be mindful of that eventuality. Now, Gen Z social media users have come up with a new term for the jarringly named “wife beater”, after a resurgence in popularity of the white tank top. People have started referring to the item as a “wife pleaser” to make it less triggering for victims of family and domestic violence. Tutorials on how to style the top have surged in popularity in recent times, while fashion magazines and websites have started listing them in articles like the “best wife pleasers of the summer”. In 2018, The New York Times ran an opinion piece titled: "Are we really still calling this shirt a wife beater?" “I myself have used the term before — and I’ve worn the shirt plenty — but this time it stopped me cold. Given the torrent of revelations of abuse against women in the #MeToo era, the name suddenly seemed grossly inappropriate,” wrote the author. He continued: "We don’t call our pants 'child molesters' or our hats 'cat mutilators'. We immediately recognise such descriptions as violent and abhorrent. And yet, we somehow overlook the same when we call our shirts wife beaters." The “wife pleaser”, by contrast, appears to have been in use since last year, and has now gone viral again. In July 2022, InStyle ran an article about American actor Chris Evans’ love of the item, called ‘Chris Evans’s "wife pleasers" are this summer's ultimate fashion throwback". Social media users on TikTok are also calling it the “wife respecter” and a “wife caresser”. And in 2018, Jonathan Van Ness, star of Netflix series Queer Eye, even called it a “wife lover”, when the cast were helping a subject choose an outfit on the show. The term wife beater, meanwhile, has far more sinister roots. It appears to have entered common use in 1947, when a man wearing a white tank top was arrested for murdering his wife. A clip that was shared by @abigailand_ and has been viewed 8.5 million mocked her sister, who is freshman at college, for choosing a pink and grey colour scheme for her dorm room. Text overlaying the clip read: “Watching my college freshman sister pick out pink and gray for her dorm room colors (I can’t interfere it’s a canon event).” The term “canon event” on TikTok refers to an event from your past, typically embarrassing or bad, that helps shape the person you become. The clip showed her sister sitting among her items such as cushions, bedding and even Tupperware in the pink and grey scheme.
