Beyonce laughs off awkward on-stage blunder during sold out concert
Beyonce laughed at her own fumble as she got the words wrong during her sell-out show in Edinburgh on Saturday. In the eyes of her fans, performer and all-round icon Beyonce can do no wrong. But it seems even the superstar herself was caught off guard and had to laugh at her own on-stage error. The funny moment came during a performance of her track HEATED, which comes from her 2022 album Renaissance, which the world tour she is currently on is named after. In the song, the lyric mentions fashion designer Coco Chanel, with the words: “Cuff me, please, cause this ain't fair. Dripped in my pearls like Coco Chanel.” But, during her performance at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium, Beyonce accidentally pronounced it “Coco Kernel” and immediately laughed at her own mistake while the crowd continued singing the rest of the song before she rejoined them. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter The moment was shared by an unofficial Rennaisance tour account with the caption: “Beyoncé has the cutest reaction to messing up the ‘Heated’ verse tonight in Edinburgh.” Fans were happy to see the star having so much fun on her tour, which began on 10 May in Stockholm and is due to end on 27 September in New Orleans. “She’s so real for this,” one fan wrote. Another said: “She seems like she’s having a lot of fun this tour already and I love this for her.” Someone else argued: “Even her flops are legendary.” It comes after some suggested the star “threw shade” at Sweden after clips emerged appearing to show a lacklustre crowd in Stockholm. Tim Robbins has brutal response to Trump supporter who claimed they 'hanged out'
The Shawshank Redemption actor Tim Robbins had a brutally honest response to a conservative author who claimed on Twitter the two ‘hanged out.’ Nick Adams, an Australian-born American Trump supporter, has written numerous books, with his most recent titled The Most Dangerous President in History, written about Joe Biden. Other books of Adams include Trump and Churchill: Defenders of Western Civilisation and Retaking America: Crushing Political Correctness. Adams tweeted a picture of him and Robbins on Friday with the caption ‘hanging out with Tim Robbins at JFK.’ Robbins responded to the tweet by quoting it, adding : ‘not ‘hanging out.’ Dude asked for a picture. I obliged. He left.’ Robbins’ response gained so much attention that Twitter added a community note to Adams’ original tweet that read: ‘According to Tim Robbins, they were not hanging out. When asked to take a photo, Robbins obliged.’ Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Many Twitter users loved Robbins’ harsh honesty: Adams didn’t seem to be too happy about Robbins’ clarification, and the piling laughter at his expense. He went on to call Robbins a ‘woke Hollywood liberal.’ Adams Twitter profile proudly displays his belief that he’s an ‘Alpha Male’. As well as his pinned tweet reading: ‘Yes, I am more successful and attractive than you. No, I will not be apologizing for it.’ Have your say in our news democracy. Taylor Swift fan who missed out on tickets gets job as concert security instead
Getting tickets to Taylor Swift's Era Tour was a struggle for a lot of fans, but one Swiftie was a real "mastermind" by devising a solution to ensure he didn't miss out. Davis Perrigo, an accountant (and a big TS fan) from Nashville was so determined to see the popstar live that he applied to become a security guard at Swift's Nashville concert. Although Perrigo was unable to use his phone to film while doing the job and had to face the crowd as part of the role, it didn't stop him for belting out the lyrics to Swift's biggest hits, which one concertgoer managed to video. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter In the TikTok, posted by Ryan Bailey (@sobaditsgoodwithryanb), that was sent in by one of his listeners called Leah, Perrigo can be seen facing the crowd but simultaneously (and passionately) singing his heart to 'I Knew You Were Trouble.' "Loved this video one of my listeners Leah sent where a security guard gives Taylor a run for her money at one of her Nashville shows!" the caption read. The video has since gone viral with 6.9m views, 1.2m likes, along with thousands of comments who loved Perrigo's enthusiasm. @sobaditsgoodwithryanb Loved this video one of my listeners Leah sent where a security guard gives Taylor a run for her money at one of her Nashville shows! #taylorswift #taylornation #swiftie #swifttok One person wrote: "He was in front of section E night one. "Give this man a raise she's right there and he didn't look back once," a fourth person commented. Someone else replied: "Ryan Reynolds just wanted a unique experience of the show," noting that he looked like the Deadpool actor. “I’ve been to all sorts of sporting events, this was the loudest I’ve ever heard it,” Perrigo told News Channel 5, describing the crowd as “ unbelievably loud." He noted how at one point he was- “reprimanded” by Swift’s security, where he was instructed to “take it down a notch.” “My wife, she jokes that I sing Taylor Swift songs with such passion for someone who’s never been broken up with,” Perrigo said. All in all, he says it was "a blessing that I didn’t get tickets," after working one of the coolest jobs. Have your say in our news democracy. Adult star Riley Reid shares emotional warning to anyone considering a career in porn
Riley Reid is one of the world’s most successful porn stars and lives in a $4.8 million mansion, yet she wouldn’t recommend her career to others. In an emotional YouTube video, the 31-year-old (real name Ashley Mathews), admitted that her job had destroyed her relationship with her family and caused a range of issues in her personal life. “A lot of times when people ask me if they should do porn, I tell them no, I tell them that it makes life really hard, it makes dating really hard, it makes your family life really hard, it makes intimacy hard,” she says in the 2020 clip which has recently resurfaced on Twitter. “If you're putting yourself out there and the world is now judging you, you have to be OK with being shamed every day of your life.” Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Mathews, went on to say that the abuse she suffered had even put her off starting a family of her own. “I don't even want to have children because I do porn, because I'm worried [about] the way that people will treat my child,” she explained. She then acknowledged that her mother had been supportive at the start of her career – “She kind of just let me do whatever” – but things soon turned sour. “When I started to set these boundaries, not giving her money or things like that - it made our relationship a bit more difficult and almost toxic and so it sucks. “I don't have a mum anymore, I don't talk to her, I miss having a mum. I feel like you can't rewind and you can't go back. I don't have that relationship with her anymore. I don't ever think I will and that bums me out. It bums me out a lot.” Mathews said her career had also driven a wedge between her “religious” father and her. “Recently I wanted to go visit him and he said that I can't go visit because his wife - my stepmum - does not want me there,” she said. “I'm not allowed to go visit my dad anymore because my stepmum doesn't like that I do porn.” But, she continued: “When I was like well can we go get coffee or breakfast, he was like 'I don't want to be seen in public with you' and that just f***ing hurt so bad and it sucks.” Wiping back tears, she concluded: “I’ve lost my family, I don't talk to my brothers or my sisters. I think that they all kind of tried to take advantage of me and stuff or they're just like my dad – don't want to be around me.” And yet, despite her reservations about having children, Mathews and her husband Pasha Petkuns became parents to a baby girl in November last year. The 31-year-old’ is loving motherhood, if the heart-warming photos she’s posted to Instagram are anything to go by. However, understandably, she’s not loving the backlash her defenceless child has received. “The amount of people who leave mean comments about my baby is crazy to me,” she said in a video posted earlier this month. “Grow up. Stop being mean to a baby.” Have your say in our news democracy. Click the upvote icon at the top of the page to help raise this article through the indy100 rankings.
