Two hungry bears have raided a Krispy Kreme van and helped themselves to 20 packs of doughnuts. The delivery driver had arrived at a store when he momentarily left his van unattended to drop off some boxes. At that moment, a mummy bear and her cub hopped inside the van and started munching on the sweet treats. Store manager, Shelly Deano said the bears often frequent the area in Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, US, in search of leftovers. Sally told local media: “You could hear them breaking open the packages. “We were trying to beat on the van, but they just kept eating all the doughnuts.” She added: “They ate 20 packages of the doughnut holes and I believe six packages of the three-pack chocolate doughnuts.” She said security staff managed to drive the bears away by blasting their sirens on Tuesday (19 Sept). The bears then ambled off into the nearby woods after spending around 20 minutes scoffing down the doughnuts. Krispy Kreme spokesperson Candice Sargeant said it was a learning experience for staff members. She said: “We'll definitely be learning to slide up our ramp, and close the doors, to ensure that bears don't get back in there again.” One local resident joked: “It's cute when they do it, but when I raided a doughnut truck, it was ‘illegal’ and ‘disturbing’...” Sue wrote: “Good for them. “I’m glad they got to enjoy them, but they must’ve had such a belly ache! A couple on a 13-hour flight were refunded over £1,000 after being seated next to a farting dog. Gill and Warren Press were travelling from Paris to New Zealand with Singapore Airlines when an emotional support dog started snoring loudly during the first leg of their trip. "I heard this noise – a heavy snorting," Gill told Stuff. "I thought it was my husband’s phone, but we looked down and realised it was the dog breathing. I said, ‘I’m not having this sitting next to us the whole trip." They also claimed the dog wouldn't stop farting during the journey. It was then the couple alerted staff and asked to move, but there were no spaces available. "They couldn’t have the dog out in the aisle because they couldn’t get the trolleys through, so it had to come in further, which meant his head was under my husband’s feet," she continued. "My husband was in shorts and was getting the dog’s saliva goo on his leg." The pair were offered $116 in travel vouchers – which they were unhappy with. They pushed for a refund and have since been given approximately $1,410 which they plan on donating to a charity for guide dogs. A spokesperson for Singapore Airlines said: "Singapore Airlines (SIA) apologises to Mr and Mrs Press for their experience on board their flight from Paris to Singapore. "SIA endeavours to notify customers who may be seated next to an assistance dog prior to boarding. In circumstances where customers seated next to an assistance dog request to be moved, we will assist to re-seat customers within the same cabin if space permits. "In this instance, we were unable to move Mr and Mrs Press within the same cabin as the Premium Economy Class cabin was full. Social media users were shocked to find out that people in Iceland are throwing baby puffins off cliffs – and they have been doing it for decades. Residents of several Icelandic towns traditionally go out looking for baby Atlantic puffins, or pufflings, through late August and September, explained TikTok user Jenn, whose handle is @thatgoodnewsgirl. It isn’t as bad as it sounds though. The practice has become vital to the survival of the species, according to experts, as pufflings have increasingly become confused by the bright lights of towns like Vestmannaeyjabaer in the Westman Islands. Where they would naturally find their way from their hatch site to the sea using the light of the moon, they now often wander into brightly lit towns which are much more dangerous than their natural habitat. As a result, residents now have a yearly tradition of going out to find the pufflings at night, keeping them safe overnight in cardboard boxes before chucking them off the cliffs the next morning. Crucially, the pufflings can already fly, and flap out towards the sea to rejoin their colonies. Puffins can live for up to 25 years. “It’s a great feeling because you just rescued this little guy. A woman has shared the shocking moment she found what appeared to be used boxers on a rack in a clothing shop. Paula pops into her local warehouse sale in Vancouver, Canada, every couple of months, often picking up amazing vintage or discounted branded products for low prices. However, a recent visit on 2 September has left her stumped, with her calling the discovery “gross”. Taking to TikTok (@thisgirlpppaula), her video has gone viral – gathering over 57,000 views. “The sale was hectic as always and extremely messy with clothes everywhere,” Paula, who works in social media marketing, told NeedToKnow.co.uk. “I was really open-minded when I went because you truly never know what you’re going to find. I was in the short[s] section, going through the hangers, sliding them along and I came across a pair of shorts. “I immediately knew these didn’t belong there but I had to double-check.” Paula then took it upon herself to get rid of the dirty pair. She said: “Gross. Rather than leaving them there, I just did everyone a favour and threw them away, they didn’t belong here. I did notify a staff [member] of what I found and they thanked me for throwing it away.” Paula recorded the bizarre find and posted it to social media. “GIRL! A wedding has gone viral after the newlyweds surprised guests with a huge McDonald's food spread at the reception. In the clip posted to TikTok, the couple delighted family and friends cheered with the buffet of 300 burgers, wraps, nuggets and other items from the famous food chain was revealed. The footage, which has since garnered over 2.2 million views was soon flooded with comments from fellow TikTokers. Fans of the humble doner kebab are surprised to learn what's actually in it. Presenter Jimmy Doherty delved into the nation's favourite takeaway to find out what they actually contain. In the episode of Food Unwrapped, Doherty bought nine kebabs from different takeaways and passed them onto forensic scientist Paul Hancock to find whether any were made from lamb. Surprisingly, "most of them contain chicken," he was told. "We've also got a couple which contain beef. Fortunately, we found no goat, no donkey, and no horse in any of the products." Only one out of the nine kebabs was 100 per cent lamb. Doherty asked Hancock what results could be expected from a larger sample size, to which he responded: "I would expect to see probably around a 60 per cent failure rate. That would probably be typical." A woman got into an argument with her partner after throwing their dog's poo in a neighbour's bin. The woman turned to a popular Reddit thread and explained how she had moved in with her boyfriend and his dog Maddie. Due to his working hours, she took charge of the morning walks which she "really enjoys" as it "helps her be more ready to take on the day." Her partner then takes Maddie for walks in the evenings and most weekends. Everything was running smoothly until her partner joined her for a morning walk as he didn't have work that day. "It happened when I went to throw away the poop," she explained. "As soon as I got to the can, my BF stopped me and told me I can't throw it in someone else's can and we have to carry it the entire walk until we're back home." The woman went on to say "a trash can was meant for trash," but her partner was adamant that it was wrong because it didn't belong to them. "We had to walk the rest carrying poop and it was a bit tense," she continued. "I told my boyfriend that I wasn't going to hold on to dog poop when there was a perfectly good garbage can and he said I was being rude by doing that and he was going to walk Maddie himself going forward. He said he doesn't want to risk anyone getting mad at us for using their garbage." The Reddit poster shared how she felt he was "overreacting". "Yes it is his dog so ultimately what he says goes, but it still hurts," she said. "It isn't like people would get mad at him as we do the walks separately usually." She opened up the Reddit thread for users' opinions on whether she was being unreasonable. Many of which sided with her partner. "Where I live (and in most places akin to where I live), it's illegal to put things in other people's trash receptacles. And to do that with poop is nasty. I'd be pissed as hell if someone put poop in my trash," one said. Gen Z are twice as likely to spontaneously call in sick at work to attend a gig, compared to millennials. Summer 2023 was jam-packed with exciting going-ons across the country, including yet another sold-out Glastonbury, Beyonce taking over UK stadiums and Elton John's highly anticipated Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour. With festival and concert season reaching its peak, it was simply too hard for Gen Z to resist. New YouGov research commissioned by viagogo found that 19 per cent said they'd put on an Oscar-worthy, tiny-violin performance to skip work at the last minute, compared to just 8 per cent of millennials. When the overall population was quizzed on what other scenarios they’d skip for five-star seats, 21 per cent of UK women cheekily admitted they’d miss the birth of a family member, whilst 17 per cent of men chose to flake on a close friend’s wedding for the gig of a lifetime. Furthermore, a staggering 43 per cent of Gen Z said they'd happily give up alcohol for half a year for their chance to be in the front row at their favourite gig. Despite soaring ticket prices due to inflation post-pandemic, 61 per cent of Gen Z participants have already seen more than 25 concerts in their lifetime. Social natives Gen Z are 10 per cent more likely than millennials to share content from live events on social media, but despite this - 84 per cent of fans insisted they put their phone down to enjoy their favourite song performed live. Reflecting on their fondest memories, the data also revealed that 21 per cent of UK gig-goers consider their first concert more memorable than losing their virginity (13 per cent), their first kiss (16 per cent) or getting their first job (20 per cent).
