Woman claims that she sabotaged her parent's condoms and her mum got pregnant
A woman has opened up about a secret she’s been keeping for 25 years after revealing she tampered with her parent’s birth control so she could get a baby sibling. The wild story was revealed in a TikTok by a woman named Keely, whose shocking admission has since gone viral with almost 7 million views. In the video, Keely admitted to poking holes in her parent’s condoms after finding them on their nightstand. Text overlaying the clip revealed it was sister Sam’s birthday and Keely thought it time she knew she was “sort of responsible for your existence”. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Keely explained: “When I was a little girl, me and my best friend were in my mum and dad’s bedroom. And I don’t know how she knew, [but] there were some shiny packets on the nightstand. “And she said what they were and told me what they were used for. And then there was a needle laying beside the packet. Me and my friend poked lots of holes in the packets. “Then, six months later, my mum told me she was pregnant and I was so happy, but years later my mum still says, ‘I don’t know how she happened. We were so careful.’" @mama__kee @Sam Myrick I’m sort of responsible for your existence. #sister #fyp #sorrynotsorry In the comments section, other TikTokers were left stunned by her revelation, with many saying they would never be brave enough to share that information. “The way I would have taken that to the grave,” one TikToker commented. Another wrote: “So your sister should thank you for her life. Literally.” Someone else said: “The way I’d wait for the perfect age and time to present this information to my family…. Bravo.” It was also suggested: “I hope you hold this over Sam’s head every time you need a favour.” Have your say in our news democracy. Blind man kicked out of gym 'for staring at a woman'
Blind man kicked out of gym 'for staring at a woman'
A 21-year-old has recalled the mortifying time he was kicked out of a gym for "creepily" staring at a woman – despite being blind. Toby Addison, a psychology and counselling student who frequently posts on his TikTok @blindtobes, appeared on the 'Happy Hour Podcast' earlier this month. He explained the incident in which he was working out "minding his own business," when he heard a woman say: "Oh, do you like the view?" "Obviously I don’t really know where I’m looking a lot of the time," Toby shared on the podcast episode. "I was just staring right ahead and unfortunately there was a woman doing some exercises." Toby said he initially didn't know she was speaking to him as he "wasn't doing anything wrong." However, the woman reiterated: "'Why do you keep staring at me? Stop, don’t be so creepy.'" He told her he was blind, but she "wasn't having any of it." She allegedly went on to tell Toby to "'shut up'" before having the gym manager remove him from the facility. I commend you, brother." Another added: "Absolutely mental they still asked him to leave after explaining he was blind. Some people man. Great story tho Tobes! Inspirational af." Meanwhile, a third wrote: "Wow. I didn't even think something like this would happen. Poor guy." Many more viewers urged Toby to sue or name and shame the gym in question. Man writes wife brutal performance review on how to improve herself
Man writes wife brutal performance review on how to improve herself
A man has caused a stir online after admitting to writing his wife a performance review on areas she could improve on. In the popular Reddit forum 'AITA (Am I the a**hole)', users are on standby with brutally honest opinions as to whether someone has acted inappropriately. In this instance, the anonymous man (let's call him Joe for ease) started by explaining that he and his wife share a six-year-old child together. The pair also take care of his wife's 13-year-old daughter and their 15-year-old niece, who they have custody over. Joe believes that his wife is constantly siding with their youngest child, while harshly disciplining the elder two. He went on to accuse his wife of teaching their toddler to "blame others for her actions to avoid consequences," with further claims of favouritism which causes the teens to "act out." "She just says the word, one of the teens will get punished without question," he wrote. "There’s no doubt, she is my wife’s favourite. I love her, but she’s becoming nothing more than an entitled brat." Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter As a result, Joe thought it would be a great idea to write his wife a parenting performance review, outlining her "areas in need of improvement." "I touched on how she needs to listen better, stop being biased," he wrote. "Be fair in all her decisions, stop making rash decisions without taking all three kids into consideration. "I recommended her to give each child the same amount of one-on-one alone time to speak, or just be with one another. "So it wouldn’t be an entirely slap to her face, I gave her accolades on her strong points for other areas aside from parenting. "I guess I felt this would work best because I could organize my thoughts on paper without her interjecting." Unsurprisingly, his idea went down like a lead balloon and "quickly backfired" with his wife describing it as a "manipulative sexist move." Redditors weren't far behind, either... "The parenting of your children is not a project. You are not her boss, you are her husband and the father of her kid," one wrote. "Giving her a performance review comes across as really condescending and as she said, manipulative." Meanwhile, another called it "kind of messed up." Have your say in our news democracy. 'Vile' Titanic submarine memes show social media at its worst
'Vile' Titanic submarine memes show social media at its worst
Every now and then, there’s an element of online discourse that reminds you how much of a cesspit social media is. The search for the OceanGate Expeditions submarine is one of them. Ever since a craft containing five people went missing on a journey to observe the wreckage of the Titanic on Sunday, our timelines have been full of people making light of the situation - they must be seeing a very different news story to the one we're seeing. The Titan submersible is equipped with a four-day emergency oxygen supply. It is estimated that the five missing passengers have just 24 hours of oxygen supply left inside the vessel. A Canadian aircraft searching for the missing Titan submarine detected intermittent “banging” noises from the vicinity of the last known location of the divers, and the search continues. It’s the deepest undersea rescue operation in history covering some 10,000 square miles of ocean and the sheer scale of the operation is hard to grasp. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter As families wait anxiously to hear details of the rescue mission, social media users across the world have been joking about the situation; sharing memes about which nostalgic games controller they’d choose to steer the craft, and showing contempt for the gravest of situations. The people trapped in the 6.5 metre sub somewhere in the mid-Atlantic ocean were revealed to include British billionaire explorer Hamish Harding, renowned French diver Paul-Henri Nargeolet, and OceanGate founder Stockton Rush, along with Surrey-based businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Sulaiman Dawood. Friends of the people trapped on board have also speculated that those on the vessel could currently be dealing with hypothermia if the vessel has lost power. Many have been highlighting the material wealth of those on board on social media, as if somehow the fact that there are billionaires on board who spent £250,000 to head on the expedition in the first place justifies the ridicule and indifference to human life. It’s social media at its grimmest, and if Elon Musk’s deranged tinkering hadn’t already, seeing the lack of empathy for an unimaginably terrifying situation play out on Twitter, with so many gleefully giggling away at the horror of it all, I’m starting to think I wouldn’t mind seeing the back of the whole wretched platform forever. There are plenty of people on Twitter who have recognised such, and voiced their anger at the ghoulish reactions they’ve been seeing online. One wrote: “The tweets joking about the missing #OceanGate sub make me physically ill. These are real people you are mocking. Their wealth is immaterial. Have some effing compassion.” “idk man i know we hate rich people but i think if you’re laughing at the idea of any non-evil person dying perhaps the most nightmarish death imaginable, it may be time to log off for a little,” a Twitter user said. Another said: “Two of the people on the Titanic submarine are a father and his teenage son. His wife and daughter are back home absolutely terrified. Sorry to be a buzzkill guys but maybe we shouldn’t joke about it or make fun of these people for how they spent their money, they are real humans.” A user commented: “The entire online discussion surrounding the OceanGate submarine is an indictment on the vile nature of social media. “Five people are either dead or starving of oxygen (imagine the terror) and Twitter is awash with jokes/hot takes about them. “Gross.” Have your say in our news democracy.
