Photo of 'MrBeast' flying in economy has fans concerned he's broke
A photo of MrBeast shared by the streaming platform Kick asleep on a plane has fans concerned that the most subscribed YouTuber on the planet is broke. MrBeast, real name Jimmy Donaldson, has a reported net worth of $100 million but has spoken in the past about how much money he loses when filming his highly produced and expensive YouTube videos as well as having his own Feastables and MrBeast burger ranges and advertising and sponsorship deals. However, fans have been alarmed at an apparent image of the 25-year-old asleep on a plane while flying in economy class when he could easily afford to fly in the more lavish business seats in first class or even on a private jet. The image which has since gone viral saw Kick say on their X/Twitter account "bro wtf MrBeast doing in economy?" without any indication as to whether the person in the picture was actually the YouTuber or not. Many fans of MrBeast have since latched onto the photo asking if he is in financial trouble while others weren't convinced. Dexerto have reported that the person in the picture could be a lookalike while a community note on a Drama Alert tweet also stated that there was no proof that MrBeast was actually in the photo, while also stating that it was actually a Taiwanese airline and not a Spirit Airlines plane. MrBeast is yet to respond to the image but it is highly unlikely that he is broke given that his most recent YouTube video has more than 98 million views. Regardless even if it is him, just because he's very rich doesn't mean he has to spend frivolously or think that he is above anyone else on a plane. 'Talking dog' goes viral but people are worried she's too intelligent
'Talking dog' goes viral but people are worried she's too intelligent
A ‘talking’ dog who can express their feelings and needs by pushing buttons has gone viral on TikTok – but users are worried she may be “too intelligent”. Three-year-old, red fox Labrador Retriever, Copper uses augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to communicate with its owner, Tia Herrell, 52. The buttons cover everything from wanting to eat, drink, play, go to the toilet, and even help Copper express feelings, such as worry. In a video that has gone viral on TikTok with 19 million views, Copper uses her buttons to show she is concerned moments after Tia was coughing. The clip shows Copper use a button which shouts ‘Worried’, to which Tia uses a button that says ‘Why’. Clever Copper moves to another button and says ‘Mommy’. Tia says: “You’re worried about Mommy?’ and taps the buttons for ‘Why? Worried. Mommy.’ Copper repeatedly clicks a button that says ‘Sound’ – and Tia immediately puts two and two together that she is concerned by her coughing. @thechattylab Want stranger? I think Copper wanted to be the center of attention. #talkingdogsoftiktok #dogtok She quickly taps the button for ‘Ouch’, but assures Copper she is fine. Tia has been teaching Copper how to communicate after reading about a speech-language pathologist using a similar method with her pet. She ordered some recordable buttons online and built the talking board. “Copper started with buttons when she was four months old and it really helped her with potty training,” Tia, a fellow speech-language pathologist from California, US, told NeedToKnow.co.uk. “She took to it very quickly and started using the buttons the first week. “Since then she has learned to use the buttons to request different toys, ask where family members are, ask for a treat, tell how she's feeling, tell someone if she's worried, ask to go for a ride, ask where her human sister Savannah is, and more. “It's been really fun and surprising to see Copper's personality change over time. “When she was younger, she talked about her toys and playing a lot of the time. Now she talks way more about her family and how she feels. “I think that Copper is very emotional and loves her family immensely. “I would say that Copper is extremely emotionally intelligent. “She's able to identify her own emotions and sometimes others’ emotions.” @thechattylab When you gotta go, you gotta go! #dogtok #smartdog #talkingdogsoftiktok Over two million people liked the video, taking to the comments section to share their thoughts – with some dubbing Copper the “Einstein of dogs” and others expressing concern over her skills. One user commented: “It's getting too intelligent.” “HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE, I MADE ME SIT UP IN MY BED,” another person said. “This is so wild,” another user agreed. Someone else said: “Now that is pure love.” “I’d be getting that cough checked.. that fur baby looks like he’s lost a best friend. But seriously, this is so sweet & hope ur 100% okay!” said another viewer. [sic] “Ok that’s the Einstein of dogs right there lol,” added one fan. Someone else commented: “If this is not the sweetest thing.” “The fact that dogs can understand the meaning and concept of worry is what surprises me,” said another user. “Their so much smarter then we realize,” another person added. Couple divorce just 3 minutes into their marriage after groom's comment about bride during wedding
Couple divorce just 3 minutes into their marriage after groom's comment about bride during wedding
A couple may have just broken the record for one of the most short-lived marriages, lasting just three minutes. Reports claim that the couple from Kuwait called it quits when the groom mocked his bride as they were pronounced husband and wife, who he allegedly called 'stupid' for tripping up. Subsequently, they didn't even make it out of the wedding ceremony as newlyweds. The bizarre story soon surfaced on X/Twitter, with one person writing: "I went to a wedding where the groom spent his speech making fun of his wife like it was some kind of roast, as did her father. She should have done what this woman did." Another simply called the (short) series of events "unbelievable". It comes after model, author and podcast host Emily Ratajkowski reclaimed the stigma around divorce and rebranded it "chic". "So, it seems that a lot of young ladies are getting divorced before they turn 30," EmRata said. "As someone who got married at 26, has been separated for a little over a year [at] 32, I have to tell you, I don’t think there’s anything better," she added, referencing her split from Sebastian Bear-McClard. She went on to describe being in your twenties as being "the trenches," before adding: "There is nothing better than being in your 30s, still being hot, maybe having a little bit of your own money, figuring out what you want to do with your life [and] everything, and having tried that marriage fantasy and realising that it’s maybe not all it’s cracked up to be." Bovington Tank Museum becomes unlikely YouTube hit with more views than the Louvre
Who needs the Louvre in Paris or The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City when you've got Bovington Tank Museum? That's the opinion that YouTube have at least after the quaint military museum in Dorset became an unlikely hit on the video site, racking up more than 100 million views, more the the two aforementioned art institutes. The museum, simply known as 'The Tank Museum' currently has more than 500,000 subscribers to its YouTube channel. At the time of writing the channel has more than 400 videos with some of the most popular being short documentaries on the history of such tanks as 'The War Horse' and 'King Tiger' which both have more than 2 million views each. As per the New York Times, the channel is the first ever museum to achieve more than 550,000 subscribers on YouTube and the first to have more than 100 million views. The museum was founded in 1923 but much of its success in the digital age has come via viewers in the United States and Canada who have become entranced by series on the channel such as top 5 lists and 'Tank Chat.' Top 5 Tanks | Chris Copson | The Tank Museum www.youtube.com One of the stars of the channel is the museum's education officer and full-time presenter Chris Copson who told the BBC that he would never have dreamed "in a million years" that he would become an online celebrity and says that he has even been recognised in the street. Nik Wyness, the museum’s head of marketing, admitted to NY Times that the YouTube phenomenon has helped the museum financially and generated a third of their revenue last year, which helped boost merchandise sales on their online store. It's not just YouTube where things are thriving for the Tank Museum. Their TikTok account is also growing with an impressive 320,000 followers so far. KFC fan left 'screaming' after discovering fast food brand has different name in a part of Canada
KFC fan left 'screaming' after discovering fast food brand has different name in a part of Canada
KFC is known around the world for its chicken coated in a delicious blend of 11 herbs and spices. But if you happened to be after a KFC in Quebec, you’d soon find the chain goes by a different name. One X/Twitter user was left shocked after finding out that in Quebec, Canada several world-name brands are translated into French and therefore have different names and initials. They tweeted: “Someone told me that the French language laws in Quebec are so strict that even KFC is PFK (Poulet Fris Kentucky) so I had to check on Google Maps for myself and now I’m screaming into a pillow.” Alongside the tweet, they added a screenshot of a PFK shop in Queuec to demonstrate their point. In another post, they pointed out that, even in the country of France, it is still known as KFC and they labelled the Quebecious laws “f**king psycho”. The tweet drew a variety of responses, with some people defending Quebec and others arguing it is unnecessary to change a well-known brand name. One person argued: “I love how people in the comments are saying this is dumb of us because France doesn’t even do that. “France won’t ever have to worry about protecting their language because they’re a French country. Québec is a mainly French province in an aggressively English North America.” Another asked: “You’re screaming into a pillow because a place that’s overwhelmingly French translated a sign into… French?” Someone else joked: “You can imagine my shock when I received this in Southern Ontario.” One person explained: “Ok so the funniest part of this is also that some brands will say that their name is a proper noun that doesn't need to be translated and then only translate words like ‘the’ or ‘and’ which is how you end up with this.” Another person simply asked, “This isn’t common knowledge???”, to which the original poster replied: “To someone living in Australia? No.” Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Click the upvote icon at the top of the page to help raise this article through the indy100 rankings.

Mexico alien memes: 17 of the funniest jokes about the 'alien' presented to congress
Mexico alien memes: 17 of the funniest jokes about the 'alien' presented to congress
The aliens unveiled in the Mexican congress is one of the strangest stories of the year and whenever there is something truly surreal happening you can bet the internet isn't far behind with memes. On Tuesday, an individual named Jaime Maussan presented two so-called 'corpses' to the Mexican congress claiming that they were aliens that were more than 1000 years old. Maussan added that the 30 per cent of the 'aliens' DNA was 'unknown' and that they weren't found in a UFO wreckage but "they were found in diatom (algae) mines, and were later fossilised" ater being retrieved from the Peruvian city of Cusco. The story has been widely derided especially as the 'aliens' have been presented before and are considered part of a hoax. Still despite the bizarre nature of the story many people have given their opinions on it - including Professor Brian Cox who said the figures were "way too humanoid." Less nuanced takes are available on X/Twitter where the 'aliens' have been memes and very amusing ones at that we should add. Here are some of our favourites. Of course, Dillon Danis had to make a Nina Agdal one. And that's that. Rest easy Mexican alien. We hope you get some hydration soon. Woman questions existence of dinosaurs because 'their bones aren't everywhere'
Woman questions existence of dinosaurs because 'their bones aren't everywhere'
A conspiracy theorist has cast their doubt over the existence of dinosaurs for a bizarre reason and people have been left speechless. In a viral TikTok, a woman could heard asking: “If dinosaurs actually existed, wouldn’t their bones be everywhere?” Amazingly, she also told people to test their “critical thinking skills” and asked why the “average Joe” has never dug them up. She said: “Like, why haven’t you or I, or anyone we know, ever found a bone?” The woman was also puzzled as to why palaeontologists are able to find entire dinosaur bones that haven’t decayed and still have features such as teeth. The bizarre conspiracy can be quickly put to bed with science and the discovery of fossils all over the world, on every continent. The reason dinosaur bones aren’t found under every piece of Earth is that fossilisation requires a specific environment in order to preserve the remains. @queenofeverything0003 For entertainment purposes ONLY 🦕 #historytok #fyp #truth #dinosaurs #dinosaursuit #truthtok #giants First, the remains need to be buried and completely covered in layers of sediment. This building of layers created enough pressure to compress the remains and form sediment rock. Minerals within the sediment penetrate the bones turning them to stone. Dr David Button, a dinosaur researcher at the Natural History Museum, explained: “Most of the dinosaur fossils we find are from animals that were living near to a lake or river. “Some died shortly before the area flooded and covered their remains in mud and silt. Others were washed into a river by heavy rain.” He added: “We don't know about many dinosaurs that lived in jungle or mountain environments. Fossils are very unlikely to form in such situations.” The viral TikTok was shared on X/Twtter where people certainly had some thoughts. One person wrote: “Could genuinely only bear watching the first 15 seconds but what’s really getting me is ‘no normal person has ever found dinosaur bones’. “Like isn’t that how palaeontology started? There are plenty of famous stories of regular people finding fossils by accident.” Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. YouTuber discovers massive hole in New York sidewalk
A YouTuber stunned the internet after discovering a massive deep hole in a New York City sidewalk. Internet personality Casey Neistat shared his shocking discovery in a video that has gone viral across social media. Text overlaying the video read: “Gotta watch out on New York City sidewalks”. In the clip, Neistat was filming on a New York City street when the camera of his phone panned to reveal a corner of a paving slab that was crumbling and appeared to be sagging downwards. Neistat pressed his foot into the crumbling part of the slab which dramatically fell away leaving a fairly sizeable and dangerous-looking hole. He put his arm holding the phone down the hole, with the camera revealing just how deep it went into the ground. Various rusted pipe work could be seen occupying the space. The 20-second video has been viewed almost 26 million times on TikTok and has also been shared across other social media platforms, sparking quite a reaction. @caseyneistat ⚠️ Other TikTokers took to the comments, where they joked that the hole would probably soon be rented out as an apartment. “That’s someone’s studio apartment. $2,300 a month plus utilities,” someone joked in the comments section. Another said: “Bro found Old York.” One concerned viewer wrote: “Casey, I hope you called someone.” “Bro out here wasting injury lawsuits,” someone else quipped. Someone else suggested: “Mans found the entrance to Super Mario World.” Along the same lines, another person asked: “Are the ninja turtles in there?” Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Elon Musk roasted by actor for 'defects' in Amber Heard's cosplay costume
Elon Musk roasted by actor for 'defects' in Amber Heard's cosplay costume
Lucy Pohl, the voice actor behind Overwatch 2’s character Mercy, has roundly mocked Elon Musk for the “defects” in the Mercy cosplay outfit he had Amber Heard wear. Revealed in Walter Isaacson’s new biography on Musk, the tech billionaire made his then-girlfriend Heard cosplay as Mercy for him. It is one of many revelations to come from the new biography, including his difficult relationship with his father, his child’s peculiar names and his relationships with his ex-wives. One aspect of the biography is his love for the Overwatch character Mercy and of video games more generally. The X/Twitter owner even posted a picture of Heard in costume on the app. But Pohl, who played the character in the game, responded by not only taking a swing at the costume but also at Musk’s electric car company, Tesla. She said: “As the real Mercy I can see the manufacturing defects in this cosplay like it’s a Tesla.” Tesla has gained an unwanted reputation for having quality control issues in recent years, and earlier in 2023 was forced to recall 1.1m cars in China over a braking defect. Pohl even responded with a picture of her own Mercy costume – and hers was even customised to the “spooky” skin in the game. Musk did not confirm why he chose Mercy, but he said: “[Heard] did dress up as Mercy. It was awesome.” Heard and Musk reportedly dated for much of 2017, following the breakdown of Heard’s marriage with the actor Johnny Depp. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. YouTuber crashes New York Fashion Week wearing a bin bag and gets away with it
A YouTube prank at New York Fashion Week has gone viral after one man confidently walked the runway – and no one batted an eyelid. Fred Beyer's stunt was captured during an event held by social media agency Creators Inc. It shows the 21-year-old wearing a transparent bin bag, complete with vibrant shorts and a shower cap as he struts down the ramp. Beyer manages to make it to the end of the catwalk, with no suspicion from the audience. Moments later, a member of security runs up and escorts him off. The clip has since made waves online, with many in hysterics over the harmless prank. "I thought that was the new summer release," one person joked, while another added: "I need confirmation that this wasn't part of the show bc they are weird like this lol." "He probably had one of the most normal fits in there," a third joked. Pranking Fashion Week www.youtube.com Meanwhile, one person commented: "And nobody suspected anything despite that drip. Goes to show how trash these shows be." Another suggested: "There was no reason to rush him off, bro already done damage and completed the mission." The YouTuber has grown popular online, with one of his most clicked videos racking up almost a million views. Titled 'Pulling Fire Alarm Prank,' the clip shows Beyer approaching people in public places telling them he is going to set the fire alarm off and repeatedly being told not to. Student tragically dies after eating leftover pasta
Student tragically dies after eating leftover pasta
A 20-year-old student from Belgium sadly lost his life after eating leftover pasta – and social media users are only just learning about the horrifying incident. In 2008, a man only known as AJ, was poisoned after eating spaghetti he left on the counter for five days at room temperature. He added fresh tomato sauce to the pasta before reheating and eating it. The Journal of Clinical Microbiology reported that the student became sick around 30 minutes after consuming the dish when he suffered from headaches, abdominal pain, and nausea. When he arrived at the hospital, AJ was vomiting for several hours with bouts of diarrhoea. Sadly, he died the following day around 10 hours after eating the leftover pasta. They later found that the pasta was contaminated with Bacillus cereus, a toxin caused by contaminated food. One TikToker recently brought attention to the story, with many warning others to ensure they refrigerate their leftovers properly and throw them away when necessary. @jpall20 This has to be some form of #naturalselection because idk how this isnt common sense #leftovers #spoiledfood #bacteria #foodpoisoning The video was soon inundated with comments from concerned users, with one writing: "A week? I get nervous when I leave it out a few hours." Another added: "Three days tops IN THE FRIDGE. IN THE FRIDGE DAMNIT." Meanwhile, a third commented: "The meal preppers worry me the most. Like how are you eating week old left over chicken and broccoli… you know that broccoli be broccoling." According to Mayo Clinic, "leftovers can be kept for three to four days in the refrigerator. After that, the risk of food poisoning goes up. If you don't think you'll be able to eat leftovers within four days, freeze them right away." Man who transformed himself into a dog is looking for puppy love with another human canine
Man who transformed himself into a dog is looking for puppy love with another human canine
A man who shot to worldwide fame for turning himself into a dog has opened up about his longing for companionship. The committed cosplayer, who’s known only by his canine name Toco, spent some £11,000 (2 million yen) on a hyperrealistic, custom-made costume to help him live his childhood dream of “becoming an animal”. The Japanese native began his transformation two years ago when he tasked the company Zeppet – which normally makes costumes for films – with making the full-sized collie suit. The process took weeks to complete and resulted in a jaw-dropping creation weighing around 4kg. “Toco” spent a year wearing his furry disguise in private – getting used to walking around on all fours and getting to grips with his new persona. Then, earlier this summer, he took the plunge and wore it out in public, propelling him to internet stardom. His endeavour, and the expense it entailed, may seem bewildering to most of us, but the man-cum-man’s-best-friend hopes others will follow suit. Indeed, Toco admitted in an interview with the New York Post, published on Tuesday, that he yearned to find puppy love. Asked about the prospect of romance between two people dressed up as dogs, he told the news site: “I think it would be great if something like this existed. “I would like to meet [a woman like this].” One psychologist previously told The Post that Toco is a “therian”, meaning someone who identifies with a nonhuman species, as opposed to a “furry – referring to a subculture whose members enjoy occasional cosplay in an animal costume. In a previous interview with Spanish news agency EFE, he admitted that he’s received a very mixed response to his unorthodox hobby, thanks to his YouTube and TikTok channels which have amassed millions of views between them. “I receive all kinds of messages,” he said. “Alongside the positive messages, some [people] tell me they want to do the same thing, which has made me realise that there are others like me. He did, however, admit that he had been subjected to less positive feedback, with other commentators telling him he was sick and had wasted his money. And whilst his family and closest friends know about his canine alter-ego, he has chosen to keep his human identity secret for fear of harassment. Still, none of the negativity has put him off, and he hasn’t ruled out the idea of getting other dog suits made in the future. He told EFE that although the collie is his favourite dog breed, he also loves a number of others, including the Alaskan malamute, the Siberian husky and the golden retriever – all of which, given their relatively large size, should be pretty easy for him to emulate. He also likes cats, foxes and other animals which would present a whole new challenge. In his interview with The Post, Toco admitted that spending much of his day on all fours was often draining, but he stressed it was worth the pain for the sense of fulfilment it brings him. “Rather than being tough or physically uncomfortable, the feelings of excitement and fun I receive from this experience are stronger,” he said.
