Who is Ed Mylett? The man who claims he has '21 days a week'
A man has left the internet baffled after claiming he has 21 days in a week and people are confused. Ed Mylett has gone viral for a second time after a clip from a podcast appearance on Impact Theory with YouTuber Tom Bilyeu went viral on X (formerly known as Twitter). The clip encapsulates hustle and grind culture perfectly, as Mylett claimed he had more days in the week than everyone else and explained his bizarre logic. He explained: “My day is 6am to noon, and I’m not crazy. You’re crazy for thinking it takes 24 hours, just like some dude in a cave did 300 years ago.” Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter While his maths and history might be questionable, Mylett continued, explaining, “My second day starts at noon and goes til 6pm”. He explained that 6pm until midnight counts as his “third day”, meaning over the course of a normal 7-day week, he actually experiences 21 days. It’s fair to say that users on X (formerly known as Twitter) weren’t quite as convinced by Mylett’s logic. “My favourite part of this clip is that he thinks the 'caveman era' was 300 years ago,” wrote one person. Another argued: “You can take the lad out of the afters but you can't take the afters out the lad. “All these former beak heeds turned entrepreneurs have swapped chatting s**t at 5am in some randoms kitchen for a podcast studio.” Who is Ed Mylett? Mylett is a YouTuber, podcaster and entrepreneur. H enjoined the World Financial Group (WFG), a financial planning company, in 1992. He has since used social media to grow a following by speaking about his career, and giving life lessons and advice to aspiring entrepreneurs. Have your say in our news democracy. Conspiracy theories insist new Tiffany Gomas apology video isn't her
Conspiracy theories insist new Tiffany Gomas apology video isn't her
Conspiracy theories have taken over the internet since the "not real" American Airlines passenger, Tiffany Gomas, released an apology video in which she addresses the incident from 2 July. To recap, the 38-year-old marketing executive from Texas went viral for her rant on board, where she claimed a fellow passenger wasn't real. "That mother f**ker back there is not real," she said at the front of the plane while pointing towards her seat, which has since gone on to become an online phenomenon with TikTok trends, merch – and conspiracies. On Sunday (14 August), Gomas finally addressed the incident with a self-recorded video posted to her X account (formerly known as Twitter). And some conspiracy theorists online insist it's not really her. One person wrote, "Who actually believes that this is the crazy plane lady Tiffany Gomas speaking out? Who TF they trying to kid?" – though, he didn't clarify who "they" was. Another person made the claim: "Not only is this not the same person but someone ran a traceroute on her website, tiffanygomas(dot)ćom, and it runs through a Washington DC email. Her IP isn't your standard home internet IP address, mostly likely ran through a government server. This was government created." Meanwhile, a third wrote: "The mystery of whether this is really the person she claims to be can be easily solved if she produces a record of her flight receipt. Just as the lady on the plane did not believe that guy was real- I’m skeptical that this is the real person." Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter In the clip, Gomas apologised for her language, before saying: "We all have our bad moments, um, some are far worse than others, and mine happened to be caught on camera for the whole world to see multiple times." She continued: "Sorry y’all. I hope that I can use this experience and do a little good in the world, and that is what I intend to do, I hope that you guys can accept my apology and I can begin to move on with my life." Gomas did not address her "not real" comment on the flight. One Twitter user hilariously hit back with the question on everyone's mind: "So was that motherf***er real, or no?" Planet of the Bass: How to listen to the full song
Planet of the Bass, the parody track that went viral from a TikTok clip to become the song of the summer, has now been released in full and here’s how to listen to it. Comedian Kyle Gordon caught the attention of TikTokers with his Eurodance parody track 'Planet of the Bass' as the character DJ Crazy Times. The catchy song has all the classic hallmarks of Eurodance music that was prominent in the 90s from the likes of bands such as Aqua, Vengaboys and La Bouche. It features an upbeat tempo, a lot of synths and grammatically incorrect lyrics such as, “Life, it never die. Women are my favourite guy”. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Gordon, aka DJ Crazy Times, voices the hilariously accurate male vocalist with a raspy monotone voice that throws in random ad-libs. Meanwhile, Ms. Biljana Electronica, the name of the female vocalist, sings the rest of the track. Tiffany Gomas says calling her 'crazy plane lady' is warranted in tearful apology video
Tiffany Gomas has spoken on camera for the first time since her 'not real' plane rant went viral earlier this year turning her into an unlikely online sensation. Speaking to TMZ, Gomas has appeared on camera for the first time since she was filmed ranting on an American Airlines flight earlier this year. Last week Gomas, a marketing executive from Texas was identified as the woman from the now infamous video where she demanded to be let off of the plane claiming "that motherf**ker back there is not real." Footage has since emerged of what supposedly caused the incident while Gomas also broke her silence teling the Daily Mail "so much of what's out there is inaccurate." Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Now in a video for TMZ Gomas has given a more thorough apology to everyone that was onboard the flight that day and also declared that she has enjoyed a lot of the memes about her. In the 2-minute video she says that it is completely warranted that she is being called the "crazy plane lady." She adds: "As you know I have been unwilling to speak on the viral video but I do now feel that it is time. First and foremost I want to take full accountability for my actions. They were completely unacceptable. "Stressed or not, I should have been in control of my emotions and that was not the case. My use of profanity was completely unnecessary and I want to apologise to everyone on that plane especially those that had children onboard. Can't imagine going through that and trying to explain to your kid what in the world just happened. "We all have our bad moments, some far worst than others and mine happened to be caught on camera for the whole world to see multiple times." The video takes a lighter tone as she apologises for trying not to sound like Minnie Mouse adding that it has "been comical for everyone and I have enjoyed so many of the memes." She also calls the interest in her life "invasive and unkind." Gomas continues by saying that she hopes to use this experience to "do a little good in the world" and that her apology is accepted. The video ends on a message inviting people to join Gomas on her 'journey of promoting mental health and standing up against cyberbullying.' She has also launched her own website which still appears to be under construction. Have your say in our news democracy. TikTok users have revived a 2014 horror film featuring Lily-Rose Depp that has left them feeling "traumatised". In another video, Heidi described it as a horror film that is not spoken about enough, adding in the caption that it was "not ok" – and she wasn't alone with her thoughts. OnlyFans model slammed for filming promotional clip with her brother
An OnlyFans creator has caused a stir online after filming a promotional video with her brother. Camilla Araujo, who appeared on MrBeast's famed Squid Game challenge, took to social media with the clip that shows her asking her younger brother what it feels like to have a sister that is on the adult platform. "My friends always ask me if it’s pink, and I don’t really know what they mean by that," the brother responded. The clip was soon shared to X (formerly known as Twitter) where it was inundated with comments from disturbed users. "She gotta go to jail for this one man," one person said, while another added: "Desperate times call for desperate measures." "He better not actually be a brother, I could never agree to do a vid like this let alone have a sister that does OF," a third said. Another quipped: "This generation is doomed" Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Meanwhile, across the pond in London, one OnlyFans creator was bombarded with complaints for her unique advertising methods. It came after billboards promoting a NSFW page were cropping up across London, including in Harrow and Edgware, northwest London and Norwood. One resident was so outraged that they graffitied the OnlyFans advert in North Harrow with the message: "Keep porn off our streets." Another resident, who asked not to be named, said: “I am not making a moral argument for or against pornography, but rather how it is allowed to be advertised in such an unregulated way. “The use of sexualised imagery, although far from ideal, is not my main sticking point, rather, the service advertised is entirely inappropriate for a billboard visible to all. Harrow is a rural suburb of Greater London, not Soho or the red light district of Amsterdam," they continued. Have your say in our news democracy. Another added: "On behalf of everyone on that plane and on the internet: I forgive you Tiffany." Suspected '7ft aliens' in Peru blamed on gold mining gangs
Suspected '7ft aliens' in Peru blamed on gold mining gangs
Gold mining gangs have been blamed for a spate of “alien” attacks in Peru designed to terrorise local residents. People in Alto Nanay, a village of roughly 3,000 people in the northern Amazon Basin, have reported “armoured” and “floating” aliens wearing dark hoods since mid-July. The so-called aliens have also been reported as being seven feet tall and, according to some, are impervious to bullets. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Some locals have put the attacks down to the “Face Peelers”, a regional superstition, or “green goblins”. However, the prosecutor’s office says it is more likely that members of local gold mining gangs are behind the attacks. Prosecutors think the gangs are hoping to scare people away from their illegal gold mines, and even speculated that they are using jetpacks to access difficult-to-reach spots in the dense jungles nearby. “They would be using state-of-the-art technology, such as thrusters that allow people to fly,” Carlos Castro Quintanilla, the Peruvian government’s prosecutor investigating the case, told Radio Programas del Perú. The Alto Nanay region is rich in gold deposits, and illegal mining is big business there. Quintanilla, a specialized prosecutor for environmental matters in the Loreto region, which includes Alto Nanay, told RPP that the gangs do 80 per cent of their illegal business in the Nanay River basin. Jairo Reátegui Ávila, the leader of the Ikitu indigenous people who live in the region, was the first person to call the people “aliens”, and told the radio station they were “frightened by what is happening in the community.” “I have shot him twice and he does not fall, but rises and disappears,” he told RPP. The Daily Mail reported that a 15-year-old was cut on the neck in one of the attacks and was treated in hospital. The Ikitu community has even asked the military to intervene, while citizens have organised night patrols to find the attackers. Gold mining is largely unregulated in Peru, and gangs have settled there after having been expelled from neighbouring Brazil and Columbia. Artisanal mining boomed when the financial crisis hit in 2008, which made gold more profitable than drug trafficking. Have your say in our news democracy. Elon Musk is calling Mark Zuckerberg a ‘chicken’ after playing down fight
The world’s two richest tech bros have continued their war of words, after Elon Musk called Mark Zuckerberg a “chicken” for appearing to call off a planned fight between the two. Yesterday, Zuckerberg said he is moving on from a rumoured cage fight with Twitter owner Musk, claiming the Tesla boss “isn’t serious”. Musk responded: “Zuck is a chicken.” The rival billionaire tech bosses seemingly agreed to a brawl in June when Musk tweeted that he was “up for a cage fight”. Zuckerberg, who manages Facebook and Instagram, took a screenshot of Musk’s tweet, replying “send me location”. Musk, owner of social media platform X, formerly named Twitter, appeared to suggest the fight would be held in an “epic location” in Italy. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter He outlined streaming options and an ancient setting for the proposed event, claiming he had spoken to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. However, Zuckerberg yesterday wrote on Threads, his own social media platform: ”I think we can all agree Elon isn’t serious and it’s time to move on. “I offered a real date. Dana White (UFC boss) offered to make this a legit competition for charity. “Elon won’t confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now asks to do a practice round in my backyard instead. “If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me. Otherwise, time to move on. I’m going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously.” Despite Musk claiming it was actually Zuckerberg backing down, some users of his own platform agreed that the latter might have a point. “Just need to give him a date,” one person said. Another wrote: “Not sure why you think so. He keeps trying to get a time and you keep postponing. Right?” Have your say in our news democracy. Family discover live frog in 'triple-washed' spinach packet
Family discover live frog in 'triple-washed' spinach packet
Kermit the Frog has always told us it’s not easy being green. But sometimes it’s not easy eating greens either. At least, that is, not for one Michigan family, who made a shocking discovery when unpacking their weekly shop. Amber Worrick told Fox 2 that her daughter screamed when she picked up the box of Earthbound Farms Organic Spinach only to find that there was a stowaway inside. “My daughter was screaming, she was like ‘Oh my God, it’s a frog,” Worrick said. “And I was like, ‘What?’” Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter The amphibian, which turned out to be a California native Pacific tree frog, was camouflaged among the leaves and still very much alive. Worrick explained to the local news outlet that she hadn’t noticed anything unusual when she picked up the veg at a local supermarket. “I didn’t see anything,” she insisted, adding that it “didn’t feel heavy” and she “didn’t feel anything wiggling.” Naturally, she went back to the Meijir supermarket, in the town of Southfield, to return the goods, bringing the tiny intruder along with her. Representatives for the shop told Fox 2 that the frog had been relocated to a new home outside by their team members, and that it was “alive and well”. Worrick seems to have been pleased at this result, telling the outlet: "I didn't want [the frog] to die, but I didn't want him in my food.” The spinach brand’s parent company, Taylor Farms, reportedly sent a statement apologising for the unusual mishap and vowing to work hard to prevent similar occurrences in future. Worrick was somewhat critical of them, however, saying of her purchase: "On the package, it says three times washed, or something like triple washed. I don't believe that it was washed or else they would have caught a whole live frog." Still, she conceded: “Thank God I didn’t eat [it]”. Have your say in our news democracy. Reggie Gray, the man with the folding chair from Alabama brawl, pictured after handing himself in
Reggie Gray, the man with the folding chair from Alabama brawl, pictured after handing himself in
Since footage of the wild Alabama brawl swept social media, the 'folded chair' has become the centre of attention. And now, the man who handled the famed chair Reggie Gray has handed himself in after police urged him to “contact local law enforcement,” as “there’s more interviews to conduct with him.” Gray is now being held in Municipal Jail with local police chief describing the 42-year-old as the man "wielding that folding chair." For those unaware, a fight broke out on August 5 near Montgomery Riverfront Park, after two white men started arguing with a Black dock worker. Things soon escalated before more people jumped in to seemingly defend the man. Four people have since been arrested, and "there’s a possibility more will follow after the review of additional video," the police told The Independent. People were thrown into the water and a folded chair was hit over someone's head. The footage prompted X users (formerly known as Twitter) to do what they do best: Memeify it, with the 'inventor' of the folding chair being the centre of memes across social media. Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Reggie Gray, hailed The Chair Warrior online by many, was been asked to contact the police department for questioning after 21-year-old Mary Todd, Richard Roberts, 48, Zachery Shipman, 25, and Allen Todd all handing themselves in following the mass brawl. After police asked Gray to come forward the responses soon came rolling in, with one writing: "Reggie Gray needs our support & hopefully a GoFundMe gets started for good representation." Another urged people to "leave the chair man alone." The Montgomery Police Department said they "acted swiftly to detain several reckless individuals for attacking a man who was doing his job," and that "Warrants have been signed and justice will be served." Reed continued: "This was an unfortunate incident which never should have occurred. As our police department investigates these intolerable actions, we should not become desensitized to violence of any kind in our community.
