Woman who 'died for 3 minutes' shares what she saw
A woman has revealed that she was pronounced dead for three minutes after battling with heatstroke – and claims that watches “stop working” whenever she wears them. When Jade visited a friend for a relaxing summer afternoon, she didn’t expect her life to be hanging in the balance only hours later. She recalls the heat in Green Bay, Wisconsin, US, reaching 32 degrees and with the high humidity, this made the temperature “unbearable.” Soon, she started experiencing frequent bouts of nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and exhaustion which caused her to collapse on the living room sofa. As Jade, aged 36, was rushed to hospital, medics pronounced her dead for three minutes and said the culprit was heatstroke. Now, in a bid to raise awareness, she’s shared her story on TikTok, racking up 191,000 views and over 20,000 likes and says that the experience has made her “unafraid” of death. “I had experienced an extreme fear of dying before this incident, but when it actually happened, I had zero fear,” the content creator, from Wisconsin, told NeedToKnow.co.uk. “I remember feeling consistently yucky and really gross. “I was run down, lethargic and sick to my stomach, with my mouth bone dry. She continued: “I went out to smoke and the moment that I finished and stood up, I knew I was in trouble. My priority immediately became getting back inside and I don’t think I understood at this point that I was dying, but I did understand that I was going down.” Jade recalls stumbling into the apartment and slumping onto the couch, before making a gurgling sound. She said: “Everything must have happened in a matter of moments, but it felt like much longer and this profound feeling of utter sickness hit me like a tonne of bricks. My head felt like it was inflating, yet my entire body as if it was shrinking. I had never known anything like it before. It made me completely OK with dying because I wanted to sleep forever." “Then, everything went black and that was the moment I knew I was about to pass away.” Jade was rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital via ambulance, where she was revived via a defibrillator. As she arrived, she fell in and out of consciousness, but imaging tests of her head were carried out, along with blood tests and electrocardiograms, a test to check the heart’s rhythm. Over the next four days, she received injections to prevent blood clots and soon, medics told her she had been pronounced “dead” for three minutes on arrival with heatstroke. In the clip, she discusses her story and the “weird” occurrences which have happened since. Users flocked to the comments to share their reactions, with many detailing their own experiences, with one writing: “I fainted TWICE that summer.” Someone else commented: “I was pregnant that summer. The heat was HORRIBLE!!!” Jade was born with Wolff Parkinsons’ White and postural tachycardia syndrome, which both cause abnormalities with increased heart rate. Often, she feels like she’s going to “throw up” her heart and sometimes, extreme shakiness, as well as fainting spells. Due to this, she finds intense heat triggers these episodes and while her near-death experience in July 2011 hasn’t made these worse, she believes they were a contributing factor. Jade said: “My symptoms are still mild, but I have been getting new ones, such as a low-grade fever and muscle weakness. I'm not sure if these are related to the heatstroke. I’m still waiting for a final diagnosis, as this has only occurred after my incident, but I will always fight for myself and my life.” Since then, Jade has also suffered with frequent seizures, which she had never had prior to the incident. She said: “At first, I thought it was heatstroke again, but I just passed out and doctors believe it’s because I’m still so exhausted from all the anxiety of almost dying. But, I have been admitted a few times for these and I’ve had tests such as MRIs and more blood work done, as well as seeing a neurologist and I’ve been diagnosed with epilepsy. “Now, I don’t have them so much, but I’ve been in touch with other near-death experience survivors who said they had seizures for a while after, but then they suddenly stopped.” Jade has also experienced other “strange anomalies” such as not being able to wear regular watches as they would stop working once she put them on. She added: “It wasn’t something that happened before and the only watches that are safe are expensive smartwatches. “I’ve given up on them entirely, but vape pens also shut down even with a full battery. “I’ve also had a lot of spooky things happening, such as hearing voices and seeing things that aren’t there. “Sometimes it’s been whispers or dark hazy figures and I began recording my home because I was petrified that I was losing it. “I believe this is telling me that life continues after death. “I feel like I’m in a special club and it’s made me learn how to take better care of myself, as well as valuing life more. “I don’t live in fear of death and I know that when my time comes, any fear will melt away like it did before. “The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that it is absolutely true what they say – the fear itself is always worse than the thing we actually fear.” How to join the indy100's free WhatsApp channel Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Tiffany Gomas responds to 'embarrassing' SNL sketch about her
Tiffany Gomas, one of the most notorious viral figures of the year, is back in the news thanks to the latest episode of Saturday Night Live. Tiffany, of course, shot to unlikely fame after being filmed uttering the now immortal words “that motherf***er is not real” and launching into a bizarre rant on a plane over the summer. She previously addressed what “actually” happened after she was removed from the flight, albeit without giving a completely satisfying answer, and now she’s been immortalised in the form of an SNL sketch. Over the weekend, the comedy show featured a sketch which jokingly referred to the kinds of people you might see at an airport over the holiday season. There is "couple on their last Thanksgiving trip together", "woman with service animals she clearly doesn't need" and "TSA agent shouting the same thing 12 different ways". However, Gomas was clearly the inspiration for “woman who’s about to go viral”. "I am telling you right now, that mother trucker is not real,” the character says after appearing on screen, repeating Gomas’s infamous lines. Gomas has now responded to the sketch, responding to the clip on Twitter/X by writing: “Well, this is embarrassing.” She also used laughing emojis in the post, so it looks like she’s at least able to joke about the incident now. It comes after Gomas previously addressed the incident while speaking to the ‘Pardon My Take’ podcast four months on from her meltdown on an American Airlines jet, the marketing executive spoke about the aftermath of her outburst, as well as what prompted the whole thing. During their chat, the podcast’s host Dan Katz asked Gomas outright “what [she] saw” to prompt such an extreme reaction. She replied: “Yeah, the reason why I probably haven't come out yet… it's so cringe… “I did not see anything.” Elaborating, she said: “I got into a bit of an altercation. It spiralled out of control. It was not my best moment, I mean, it was actually a horrible moment – absolutely mortifying.” Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter How to join the indy100's free WhatsApp channel Have your say in our news democracy. Woman sings hymn to calm down 'possessed' plane passenger
2023 has officially become the year of plane drama. It seems as though every time you take a swipe through social media, at least one person is kicking up a storm mid-air. From Tiffany Gomas' "not real" rant, which she finally cleared up, to the woman who used her so-called influencer status during a confrontation with a fellow passenger, it sure has been difficult to mind our own business and simply swipe past. Well now, another altercation has taken place, and this time it was said to be on a Frontier flight. In the four-minute footage shared to Reddit, one woman can be heard wailing while staff members appear to try and take her to the back of the plane to calm her down. "Stop pulling on my arm," she yells, as she later attempts to climb over rows of seats. The situation then intensifies as another woman jumps in claiming the passenger is "possessed". "That doesn't happen for no reason. This is actual evidence there's a real devil that wants to kill each and every one of you all, including your family members," the woman in the hat says. "That’s not her, she’s possessed!" she continues. "She needs help!" She then tells fellow passengers that Jesus Christ is the way forward. Later in the clip, the chaos starts once again, while the preacher stands at the back of the plane and calmly sings a hymn in an attempt to resolve the situation. Reddit - Dive into anything from PublicFreakout My little sister’s first experience flying by her self on Frontier byu/octopussking inPublicFreakout It didn't take long for hundreds of viewers to flood the comments section, with one calling it the top five plane "freak outs" of all time. Another said: "This transcends the freak out and has become performance art." Meanwhile, a third joked: "I'm not into conspiracy theories but I'm fully convinced Frontier hires crazy actors to keep prices low." Indy100 reached out to Frontier for comment. iShowSpeed urges fans to stop dangerons swatting trend: "I could have died"
The curse of swatting has hit the streaming world once again, this time affecting iShowSpeed. He urged his followers to stop with the dangerous practice after having law officials called to his house, saying that he “could have really died” after having guns pointed at him. The practice of swatting is becoming a growing issue. Porn actress-turned-Twitch star Adriana Chechik previously revealed she was going to have to move house because of being targeted, while Adin Ross also found one of his latest streams being interrupted in his latest run in with law officials. The concerning trend sees streamers targeted by trolls who have uncovered their location, before making a hoax phone call to the emergency services, often claiming that there’s extreme violence taking place there. iShowSpeed was broadcasting to his subscribers when he realised he’d been targeted again, despite having moved into his new house just a week before. “Bro, just for my safety in case anything happens. Ain’t no f***ing way bro,” he says in the clip, before pulling down his streaming set up and walking into a different part of the house. Later in the video, a police team is seen entering the house. Thankfully, iShowSpeed shared an update after the raid and confirmed that he was OK. Pleading with his viewers, he said: “I just got swatted. I wish I knew whoever did that. That’s f***ed up. Don’t ever do that again in your life, bro. I could have really died. I had guns to my face. Don’t ever do that again.” Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter How to join the indy100's free WhatsApp channel Have your say in our news democracy. Woman sparks debate by taking neighbours old furniture and immediately selling it
A woman who took her neighbour's old furniture and resold it on Facebook Marketplace has sparked a debate online. TikTok creator Andrea (@avocandreatoast) shared how she planned on making some extra money, after getting the items for free and reselling them. "Someone in the apartment doesn't know what Facebook Marketplace is. I keep seeing free stuffy lying around," she says in the viral clip. Andrea explains that she took the bookcase for herself, but also noticed a decent desk and frame lying around, which she also rehomed to sell on. "I was just shocked at how pretty the frame was and why they weren't even attempting to sell the desk on Facebook Marketplace. And then I got the genius idea to do it myself," she said. She then went on to tell viewers that the desk she had advertised online had already sold. "I put it on for $20, got a million requests for it, and someone picked it up within two hours," she shared. @avocandreatoast another day, another dollar 🤣🤑 I don't know what I'd do without facebook marketplace and I'm amazed that some people don't use it #facebookmarketplacefinds #facebookmarketplacefurniture #fyp #sideincomeideas #sellingfurniture It didn't take long for Andrea's entrepreneurial thinking struck up a divisive conversation in the comments. "Imagine you're scrolling through FB marketplace and see the furniture you set outside for free," one person joked. It also seems Andrea wasn't the first to have the thought, with one viewer commenting they had made $2,000 over two years by reselling other peoples' items. Meanwhile, others expressed their thoughts on Facebook Marketplace, suggesting it could have been the reason for the original owner avoiding the platform. "I stopped selling stuff on FB marketplace because it's such a hassle. 800 'is this available?' messages and then 800 people ghosting." Wrote one. Another added: "I've had no luck with Facebook marketplace. Every person so far that's [messaged] about [an] item they don't show up." Streamer Pokimane hits back at 'broke' viewers who criticised price of her cookies
Streamer Pokimane has hit out and called viewers “broke” over complaints at the prices she charged for cookies. From being attacked live on a stream to unwittingly helping a shoplifter escape a store, you never really know what to expect when tuning in to any given stream. It’s fair to say that fans of the streaming sensation Pokimane were not expecting the price that she was charging for her controversial Myna cookies after launching a new business venture. On 13 November, the Twitch star launched Myna Snacks, which has begun selling “Midnight Cookies” – a gluten-free chocolate cookie infused with Vitamin D and flavoured with sea salt. They are available to purchase online and cost $7 per bag (£5.60) but are only available in a 4-pack, 8-pack or 12-pack. This means the minimum amount an average buyer can purchase is $28 worth, plus shipping costs. Pokimane hit out at those criticising the product’s price, calling them “broke” for not wanting to pay that much. In a live stream, she said: “When people are like ‘oh my god $28 for cookies’. It’s four bags, that’s $7 per bag. I know, I know math is hard when you’re an idiot. But, if you’re a broke boy just say so.” But, her comments have sparked backlash, with many suggesting she is out of touch with real life and the struggles faced by the general population. One person argued: “These streamers are getting soo out of touch with reality it’s actually disgusting.” Another called her an “out of touch millionaire calling people broke for not buying her overpriced cookies”. Someone else wrote: “Ok I'm not American but even I know $28 for only 4 bags of cookies is a scam and extremely out of touch.” How to join the indy100's free WhatsApp channel Sign up to our free indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Nigel Farage squirms over expenses claims in awkward resurfaced clip
Nigel Farage is, unfortunately, being spoken about more than ever as he entered the jungle for I'm A Celebrity... Now, an old clip has resurfaced of the former MEP being asked about his expenses where he appears to get extremely uncomfortable. The clip, from a 2014 episode of Have I Got News for You, starts with Farage saying: "I think it's absolutely disgusting, all these elected politicians using all these expenses to better themselves, it's disgraceful." Then one of the show's panelists, Ian Hislop replies: "It is absolutely disgraceful Mr. Kettle." Stephen Mangan, the host of the episode then reads aloud the following quote from Farage: "What we've seen is a Prime Minister who clearly is totally disconnected with how the voters in Britain feel about MPs' expenses." Mangan then adds: "The same Nigel Farage who in 2009 revealed that as an MEP he'd claimed in expenses £2 million of taxpayers' money." Visibly uncomfortable, Farage tries to worm his way out of scrutiny saying, "and who was it that bought up the issue of £2 million and me and taxpayer's money? Denis MacShane." MacShane is a former MP and was convicted in 2013 for false accounting in regards to expenses-claims. "Yeah he's in jail, but you're not," Hislop then pointed out to Farage. Mangan then continues: "As a tax-funded MEP Nigel Farage is an equal opportunities employer, some of our money has gone to his wife, and some to his mistress." Farage's appearance on ITV's I'm A Celebrity... has led for calls to boycott the show's platforming of him, especially once viewers learnt that he had been paid £1.5 million to appear in the jungle. Woman lists room for $900 a month but renter must share bed with her
The internet had been left in shock after someone was charging $900 rent for a room which requires the tenant to share the same bed as them. In the current climate, the rental market worldwide is incredibly competitive and even after securing a place, many have found their landlords to be completely unhinged, with one charging a tenant extra for her pet fish. One Toronto tenant hoping to rent out a room has received strong criticism after stating that the tenant has to sleep in the same bed as them for $900 (£525) a month. The rental advertising post was for a “shared bedroom in a lake-facing downtown condo”. The “unhinged” ad drew attention after Toronto realtor Anya Ettinger shared it on her TikTok with the caption: “Just when you thought the Toronto rental market couldn’t get any worse, it did.” In the video, Ettinger revealed the landlord was looking for an “easygoing female to share the master bedroom and the one queen-sized bed”. According to the person advertising the room, they have had a similar arrangement with a roommate they met on Facebook, which allegedly worked “perfectly”. @aserealty just when you thought the Toronto rental market couldn’t get any worse, it did. Someone is trying to rent out a space in their queen sized bed in a downtown condo for $900/mo. And the worst part is that someone is actually going to rent this… SEND HELP #rentalmarket #roomrental #torontorentals #rentalcrisis #realestatefail People in the comments were absolutely baffled by not only the living arrangement but the price they were asking someone to pay for it. One person commented: “Living in Toronto can’t be worth it. It just can’t be.” Another shocked viewer asked: “Could you image what it’s like to share the bed when they get sick? And why is it so…expensive?” “We are in hell,” another person wrote. How to join the indy100's free WhatsApp channel Sign up to our free indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. TikToker issues warning after being hospitalised with carbon monoxide poisoning from scented candles
A TikToker has opened up about the “scary” dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning after she was hospitalised with it from lighting scented candles. Scented candles are a common household item that helps to improve a space’s ambience. But many TikTok users were left shocked after content creator Emy Moore revealed she ended up in hospital. In the video, Moore could be seen pulling monitor stickers from the hospital off her body as she explained exactly what happened. She said: “I had like five candles, scented candles, going on in my room for hours yesterday and then blew them out right before I went to sleep.” Moore explained that as she tried to fall asleep she started to feel very strange and felt like her “body dropped”. The TikToker said the sensation felt like her body separated and there were two halves of her. She also revealed she started to lose her sense of self and had a rapid heartbeat. @emymoore3 never buying a candle EVER again After being taken to hospital by her parents, Moore said she kept forgetting what she had just said and was shaking as though she was on the cusp of having a seizure. Some of her other symptoms included a headache, dizziness, confusion, dehydration, shortness of breath, chest pain, blurred vision and high blood pressure. Moore explained to doctors about the candles and was hooked up to oxygen which made her feel better and her symptoms go away after a few hours. “I literally had no idea you can get carbon monoxide poisoning from candles,” one person commented. Another said: “I’m glad you’re ok, but 5 candles AT ONCE??” Someone else commented: “I also had carbon monoxide poisoning and I too had that second sense that something wasn’t right. It’s crazyyy.” “It says not to leave candles burning for more than 3-4 hours depending on the candle for this reason to everyone in the comments…” someone else warned. MrBeast reduced to tears after being buried alive for seven days
MrBeast was reduced to tears during his latest challenge, which saw him buried alive in a coffin for seven days. The YouTuber, real name Jimmy Donaldson, is best known for his highly elaborate and expensive stunts and challenges which can test his and others own physical limits. In his latest video Donaldson attempted to better the record he set in 2021 when he was buried alive for 50 hours. This time the 25-year-old was encassed in a transparent coffin where the rest of his crew could see him via cameras and talk to him via walkie talkies. Donaldson did have food and water supplies with him to help him last the seven days but it proved to be far more mentally tasking than he had anticipated. During several moments in the challenge, including when he was being freed from the casket and the dirt, started to cry. Donaldson even admitted that he didn't understand why he was crying during these moments. Although he made it through the challenge there was a concern that he might not be able to stand up properly as he might have developed blood clots in his legs. Luckily for him that didn't transpire and he was given the all clear by doctor leaving him to celebrate passing the challenge and also achieving more than 200 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, with the milestone passing while he was underground. This new achievement for Donaldson comes not longer after he was accussed by fellow YouTuber Rosanna Pansino of 'faking' his videos. Home Alone fans have wild theory on how family afforded iconic mansion
Home Alone fans have come up with a creative theory as to how Kevin McCallister's father managed to afford their family mansion and a trip to Paris for nine people. The Christmas hit was released over 30 years ago and remains one of the most popular films during the festive season – but no one has ever thought to pose the question of how the McCallisters afforded their lavish lifestyle, until now. In a resurfaced viral TikTok, Brian Rooney lifted the lid on the fan theory that suggests Peter McCallister was a "mob boss" and went on to claim "Harry and Marv were from a rival family and they were seeking revenge which is why they were hitting up the block". @roon_tang Don’t step to Kevin #homealone #homealonemovie #homealonememes #movies #fantheory #fantheories #comedy #satire #rant #kevinmccallister "I think the whole theory of Kevin’s dad being a mobster makes total sense just based off Kevin’s behaviour," he continues, calling Kevin a "straight up G." "When Kevin found out that Harry and Marv were going to rob his house, it didn’t even occur to him to ever call the police," Brian says. "Kevin stuck to the G code of ‘this is my house. I have to defend it’. That’s the most gangster s*** ever." He added: "At the end he didn’t talk to the police at all. He didn’t give them a statement. He just kept his mouth shut. That’s some G code s**t which he would have had to learn from his mob boss dad." Rooney went on to say: "Y’all better recognise Kevin McCallister was a stone-cold thug." Fellow TikTokers soon flooded the clip, with one chiming in: "Kevin’s parents also are wearing Burberry coats." Another added: "His mom was apparently a fashion designer and his dad was a 'businessman' so his dad being a mobster is kinda plausible." Meanwhile, one person said: "Kevin's dad didn't pay for the trip, his brother in Paris did. People tend to miss that line of dialogue because it was kinda in the background." Newcastle stars butcher iShowSpeed during late night Fortnite session
He's a big Manchester United fan, but iShowSpeed had no idea who a group of Newcastle United footballers were after they 'butchered' him during a late night Fortnite session. Three players took down iShowSpeed during his latest gaming stream, but despite being notable Premier League stars the content creator had no clue who he was up against. "Who the f*** is Harvey Barnes, bro?" iShowSpeed shouted after meeting a sticky end in the game. Harvey Barnes, as football fans know, is a talented winger on the fringes of the England squad who moved to Newcastle from Leicester in the summer. Viewers weren’t 100 per cent sure whether it was the real Harvey Barnes who had taken iShowSpeed down at first. However, he was joined by players with the aliases Anthony Gordon and Paul Dummett, who also play for Newcastle, which seemed to confirm things. "I’m creased some Fortnite pro players and Speed got butchered by Harvey Barnes, Paul Dummett and Anthony Gordon at 1am,” one social media user posted after seeing the incident unfolded. Another said: “Never thought i’d hear speed and xqc talking about harvey barnes lmfao.” One more added: “Speed getting his ass handed to him on Fortnite by Harvey Barnes is hilarious.” “A crossover we never knew we needed…” another wrote. It comes a few days after iShowSpeed attracted controversy after attempting a dangerous “coke and condom challenge” on his live stream.
