Young woman flooded with sexist comments after asking for DIY help
Young woman flooded with sexist comments after asking for DIY help
A woman was bombarded with sexist comments on TikTok after asking followers a simple DIY question. The Australian TikToker Lex (@lexxxratcliffe) asked: "Do you know what this is? Because I thought this was a goddamn drill." She added: "It just doesn't work." While some fellow TikTokers kindly helped her out, others were quick to flood the comments section with sexist remarks. "Oml, please someone get this girl a man. I'd hate to see what she does behind a wheel," one misogynistic comment read which racked up 60,000 likes, while another account named after their love for Andrew Tate mocked: "Independent strong woman." "I offer myself as a boyfriend and teacher," a third added. @lexxxratcliffe It comes after another woman was slammed for decorating her boyfriend's apartment, in what she thought was a lovely gesture. TikTok user Emma Ganzarain (@emmaganzarain) innocently turned to the platform to showcase a series of before and after photos. "All men need a woman in their life," she wrote, along with the hashtags 'transformation,' 'interior' and 'living room inspo'. Despite her efforts, over 50,000 fellow TikTokers flocked to the clip with their brutal takes. "His soul is no longer in that space," one wrote. "Stop trying to fix the men in your life and learn to love them for who they are and the way they want to decorate." Another added: "Sis he has STYLE. the before was SOO cute and had so much character." Lena the Plug & Adam22 launch reality show where winner can sleep with them
Adult stars Lena the Plug and her husband Adam22 have announced a new reality show with a bizarre plot twist: the winner gets to sleep with them. For the Love of Lena will see ten male contestants battle it out to be crowned the winner, with the likes of TikToker Cripmac and pornstar John Legendary being among those taking part. The show is set to start on YouTube on Monday (13 November) – but the NSFW scene will later be available on OnlyFans. The pornstars tied the knot in May after seven years together. They have since made headlines for their unique podcast with X-rated endings and lifestyle choices, including Lena filming a NSFW scene with fellow adult star Jason Luv. Adam22 received a lot of backlash for it, prompting Lena to address the criticisms to TMZ while outside a supermarket. "I feel bad for him [Adam] because I'm having a lot of positive reaction whilst he's having a lot of negative reaction," she told the outlet. "I'm getting hated too, but I do feel like there's a big dump on him. He can handle it, he's a big boy." She continued: "I feel like everyone should do what makes them happy as long as they're not hurting anyone. There's way weirder sexual things out there than what we currently have going on." Drake follows HSTikkyTokky after Miami brawl with Zherka
YouTubers Zherka and HSTikkyTokky began fighting in the streets of Miami after their feud took a violent turn. The pair have been at each other's throats for a while, but things suddenly escalated after they dragged each other into the road when a shouting match turned into something more sinister. Earlier this year, Zherka got into a fight in public after he was confronted by a viewer who accused him of being racist. From the footage that was captured on both their livestreams, Zherka appeared to push HS and take a swing at him. However, he was quickly forced to the ground, with his shirt torn off in the process by HS. Many viewers found humour in the fact that whilst Zherka started the fight, he hit the ground first, being brand the "loser" of the exchange. The two of them then dragged each other into a busy street whilst a car tried to pull away. Traffic begun to build up after cars were unable to get past the fight. However, the noise of car horns eventually got the pair to stand up and stop fighting. Later on social media, Zherka said he dislocated his arm shortly after the fight. Controversial streamer Adin Ross told his fans online after the fight that Drake had texted him about the feud. "Bro, this dude HS is my newest favourite streamer," Drake said according to Ross. "This sh*t is f*cking hilarious. He got my respect. I used to think -- I used to wonder if he was p*ssy, but he stood tall." Woman receives backlash for redecorating boyfriend's apartment in 'millennial beige'
Woman receives backlash for redecorating boyfriend's apartment in 'millennial beige'
A woman on TikTok has gone viral for redecorating rooms with a "sad millennial beige" colour, and harshly being accused of "stripping every spec of character." TikTok user Emma Ganzarain (@emmaganzarain) innocently turned to the platform to showcase a series of before and after photos. "Stop trying to fix the men in your life and learn to love them for who they are and the way they want to decorate." Another added: "Sis he has STYLE. the before was SOO cute and had so much character." A third wrote: "Not me liking all the before better because it’s not just sad beige." One person even suggested they were saving the 'before' photos for inspiration. Meanwhile, in other interior design news, one decor trick can reportedly make your wine taste better. It turns out that vibrant and high-energy interior environments have a significant effect on how we perceive and enjoy wine, according to a new wine-tasting study commissioned by the renowned Spanish wine brand, Campo Viejo. Energetic space appeared to enhance participants' sensory experiences, with higher scores for taste and enjoyment than the other rooms. The Dopamine Décor environment also increased the participants' estimated value of the wine being served. "We’ve seen in previous published studies how environmental cues, such as music and colour, have influenced sensory experiences," Lee Chambers said. "It’s no surprise that interior environments, with their ability to infuse colour, textures and different lighting - could amplify our senses and enhance what we consume." Paramount faces backlash after deleted Killers of the Flower Moon tweet
Paramount faces backlash after deleted Killers of the Flower Moon tweet
Paramount has sparked backlash after reportedly posting and deleting a tweet about Robert De Niro's character in Martin Scorcese's Killers of the Flower Moon. Twitter/X account @DocNoirII posted a still from the movie of Robert De Niro's character William Hale wearing large goggles with the caption "this was crazy". Killers of the Flower Moon follows the true story of the Osage nation who were murdered by Hale and his nephews Ernest and Bryan Burkhart due to the oil found under the land. The reason for De Niro being dressed in large goggles is because he is supposed to resemble an owl, which symbolises death for the Osage people. The official Paramount Pictures account allegedly replied to the original tweet saying "you know he had to do it to 'em", with the sunglasses emoji - likely referring to the goggles worn by De Niro. However, it is unsurprising that many have taken the comment to imply that Hale had to murder the Osage people, understandably causing outrage by the offensive nature of the tweet. Even Lily Gladstone, who played Mollie Kyle, and grew up on the reservation of the Blackfeet Nation, expressed her anger at the thoughtless response from Paramount, who distributed the film: One user called Paramount's response "horrific": Another called it "tone deaf": Whilst most expressed pure disbelief at the comment: Although Paramount deleted the tweet, they have not issued a statement or apology. Tech mogul Bryan Johnson now attempting to get 'erection of 18-year-olds' through shock therapy
Tech mogul Bryan Johnson now attempting to get 'erection of 18-year-olds' through shock therapy
You probably know who Bryan Johnson is by now. If the name doesn't ring a bell, perhaps his mission to reverse his biological age does. Spending a staggering $2 million a year on his experiment to reverse his age, the 46-year-old has tried various methods from a strict diet to using his son's blood. During an interview with Steven Bartlett on The Diary of a CEO podcast, Johnson revealed his latest method to indicate his health. This time? Measuring his nighttime erections. Johnson told Bartlett that nighttime erections "are actually a meaningful health indicator" because they "represent psychological health, cardiological health." He found that during the night he was typically erect for "two hours and 12 minutes" – but has since undergone shockwave therapy to "rebuild" his penis in an attempt to reach "three hours and 30 minutes of nighttime erections" in order to get to the level of an 18-year-old. Johnson explains that he sits in a chair and gets his penis "shocked". "So there's this technology, you have a wand and you sit in a chair and then the technician uses the wand and basically shocks your penis, through the acoustic technology. "And it does the same things as workouts [...] where you're creating micro injuries so that it rebuilds." The technology is more commonly used for other body parts, namely dodgy knees, joints, or shoulders, however it can also be used for erectile dysfunction. Although Johnson made it clear that he does not suffer from erectile dysfunction saying he "score[s] perfect[ly] in every category" - Johnson was curious to see the technology's effects on his penis, seeing if would "rejuvenate" it and "increase nighttime erections." The results? "I'm now two months in, in my subjective experience, it's as if my penis has gotten like 15 years younger," Johnson told Bartlett." So we're still in the early stages, we still need to measure, we need data before we're going to believe anything subjectively." Although, the results come with a cost it seems. "It's painful. You need to be focused. You need to do pain management," he says. "It's like maybe a seven out of 10, but once you get to the tip, it's like a nine out of 10 because the tip you have improve sensitivity. "In addition to what we're trying to do with the nighttime erections, it also improves erection strength and orgasm pleasurability. So it has all kinds of benefits I'm trying to figure out." Flight attendant weighs in after child keeps entire plane awake with glow-in-the-dark hat
Flight attendant weighs in after child keeps entire plane awake with glow-in-the-dark hat
Passengers attempting to get some shut-eye on one flight appeared to have their plans spoiled as a child on the plane wore a bright hat with flashing lights that illuminated the cabin. As a result of the video going viral, some people are now calling for child-free flights for a more peaceful flight experience. In the viral TikTok clip posted by @malecastellonn, the camera first panned to the passengers on board behind, before it slowly moved around to the left as bright flashes of light appeared like something out of a nightclub or rave. The camera then focused on the child with the dazzling multicoloured bunny hat where the ears then popped upwards, while they sat with a parent as both looked at the camera simultaneously. Since posting the TikTok, it has received over 6.7m views, with people sharing in the comments how fuming they would be if they were a passenger on the particular flight. One person said: "I would go insane." "Imagine trying to sleep and all of a sudden the plane turns into a rave," another person wrote. A third person added: "I hope she didn’t keep that on for the whole flight that’s quite bright no one wants to deal with that for hours on end someone could have epilepsy." "That would literally make me feel ill on a flight," a fourth person commented. Someone else replied: "No joke I'd probably cry because that looks like a long flight plane…" Even a flight attendant weighed in after seeing the video to provide her verdict on the situation where she too agreed the hat wasn't an appropriate place to be worn. "As a flight attendant, I’d say put that away. There are people trying to rest, read, watch a movie etc. Also, there are people with disabilities, and this can be incredibly annoying and irritating for them. “Leave stuff like this for home or amusement parks. Not in a tiny tin can at 30,000ft in the air. Some folks have sensitive eyes please consider others around you.” Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Mum wins approval after ‘ruining’ child’s party because her daughter wasn’t invited
Mum wins approval after ‘ruining’ child’s party because her daughter wasn’t invited
A mother has been praised after she revealed how she ‘ruined’ a child’s birthday because her daughter wasn’t invited. In a post to Reddit's "Am I the A**hole?" forum, the mum provided the backstory as to what happened that caused the drama to unfold. She began by detailing how her nine-year-old daughter goes to a small school with 11 girls in her grade which is "tight-knit" and "we all get along." The girls have started up a book club and we would meet up twice per month at each other's homes. "My daughter was in it last summer but we had to stop when the school year began. She’s a competitive dancer which requires a lot of time," the mum explained. But also later clarified that her daughter "does still attend book club once per month to once every other month," she's just not a full-time member. The problem first occurred three weeks ago when a classmate discussed an upcoming party - one to which the daughter hadn't been invited. "We had a girl in her class over named Sarah. Sarah asked my daughter if she was excited to attend Addy’s, another girl in the class, birthday party. "She said it was a swimming party and they’d be playing a movie on an outdoor screen. My daughter hadn’t received an invite. "When Sarah’s mom came Sarah told her how we hadn’t received an invite for Addy’s birthday," to which Sarah's mother said that "Addy had handed them out at the last book club and had probably just forgot to reach out." So that's exactly what she did. "I texted Addy’s mom and reminded her my daughter hadn’t been at the last book club and if she was also supposed to receive an invite. "She responded that they had hired someone to do a spa for the girls during the party and the service had a limit of 10 so they decided to only do the girls in book club. She didn’t expect us to find out." The mum responded saying that she "understood but felt it was wrong to not include just one." "I told my daughter we can’t expect to be invited every time and this was just a life lesson," she added. When Sarah's mum asked if the situation had been sorted, the mum sent a screenshot of the text conversation she had with Addy's mum. A few days later, Sarah's mom told her that she would not be taking Sarah to the party - " She felt it was wrong to not include just one child and she could see if our kids didn’t get along or had drama but that wasn’t the case. They hired someone knowing just one girl would be left out and she didn’t agree with it." But it wasn't just Sarah's mom who decided not to take their child to the party. "I get a text from Addy’s mom a week later that a total of 4 girls were not attending," the mum wrote. "She felt I had ruined her daughter's party and was creating drama. I explained that I had no intentions of ruining her party and had only spoken to one other mom about it." The poster's own mum told her she "should not have texted Addy’s mom and if they had wanted us we would have been invited." To conclude, the mum summed her her side of things. "The only mom I talked to about it was Sarah’s which I assume is who told others. I never meant to cause others to not attend or ruin a child’s party. "When I reached out I really felt like it must have been a mistake since she was the only one. Now I’m unsure if I was just a jerk who now cause unnecessary drama in a small group and possibly ruined a child’s party. "Was I the AH?" she asked. Since sharing the dilemma, there have been plenty of comments from people who shared their thoughts on what happened - with many siding with the mum, believing she was not the a**hole in this situation. One person said: "NTA. Not unreasonable to think in a group that small everyone would have received an invitation. But some food for thought… Not invited? Don’t go. Not told? Don’t ask. Late invite? Decline, you were never a part of the plan." "NTA. Addy's mom knows there are 11 girls in the class and decided to go for the activity limited by not including one girl in. That's where the drama is caused," another person wrote. "Of course your daughter would have found out - or if not, this would have caused the other girls to isolate her in general by keeping secrets from her." Someone else added: "NTA - you don't exclude one kid from a party, it's unnecessarily cruel. Have only 6 sure, 10 of 11, no, and they shouldn't be surprised it's had consequences." "NTA. It's completely normal to want your kids not to be left alone or rejected," a fourth person commented. John Lewis the man responds to Christmas advert from John Lewis the shop
John Lewis the man responds to Christmas advert from John Lewis the shop
Our head hurts already, and that’s before we’ve had our first glass of mulled wine, but the Virginia Tech professor John Lewis – who often gets confused on Twitter/X for the popular department store – has finally had his say on this year’s John Lewis Christmas advert. Often heralded as one of the first signs that the festive season is fast approaching, the commercial this year tells the story of a Venus flytrap named Snapper who wreaks havoc in the family home, to the song “Festa” by the Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. The ad also doesn’t feature a ‘dad’, but rather a mother and grandmother, with John Lewis explaining that they “always attempt to show a broad representation of British life” across their marketing and that it is a “very realistic scenario for thousands of families in the UK”. Though of course, in addition to the advert itself being a tradition at this point, in the world of social media, it’s to be expected that Mr Lewis will get a misplaced tweet as a result of having the handle @johnlewis (the store’s handle is @johnlewisretail, by the way). Giving his take on the ad, Mr Lewis wrote: “I’ve had some interesting Christmas tress before, but…” It’s the first tweet the academic has posted to Twitter (now known as X) since April, when he commented on the Elon Musk-owned platform stripping him and other verified users of their blue ticks if they didn’t want to pay for the once coveted icon. “Whatever will I do without my #BlueCheckMark? My identity is destroyed. I have no reason to go on,” he said, likely with a good degree of sarcasm. Back in November 2022, he went viral after telling Musk not to suspend the Twitter account for John Lewis (the shop), saying "they are not doing a parody of me, it's a homage". While Mr Lewis has broken his Twitter/X silence this week, the last time he offered a helping hand for someone who tagged the wrong account was back in March. It is not known if he’ll return to redirecting complaints and questions to the department store’s account this year. When indy100 approached Mr Lewis for a comment or interview, he declined, saying he was not “doing interviews, even written, about this topic this season”. Please don’t log off this year, John – we could do with your tongue-in-cheek fun on our timelines as some brief comic relief while browsing the hellscape. Munya Chawawa shares ‘genius’ skit on ‘day in the life’ of Suella Braverman
Munya Chawawa shares ‘genius’ skit on ‘day in the life’ of Suella Braverman
If he’s not parodying pop music to mock high-profile figures, then social media satirist Munya Chawawa is putting on a makeshift costume and filming a skit taking a dig at politicians, businessman and more – the latest being Home Secretary Suella Braverman amid outrage over her comments on a pro-Palestine protest taking place in London on Saturday. Imagining what it would be like if Braverman was an influencer (perish the thought), Chawawa uploaded a video on Thursday in which he pops a towel on his head, pretends to be the Tory MP and shares a “day in the life” of the cabinet minister. “So I wake up each day at about hate thirty and so some yoga. Here’s me doing the ‘f*** the poor child’s’ pose,” says Chawawa, bending down and showing off two middle fingers behind his back. Running through an itinerary which includes FaceTiming Satan and making “a steaming cup of atroci-tea”, Chawawa’s ‘Braverman’ then details her “good deed for the day” in relation to the home secretary’s recent remarks on homeless people. He continues: “Now, recently I said homelessness was a lifestyle choice, and they got pretty offended, so I’ve been making some signs for them to hang up in their tents. “Things like: ‘be the beggar person’; ‘you can’t spell starving without “star”’; ‘live, laugh, leave… if you can’t afford to live in our country’.” Good lord. Throwing in a rogue peace sign for good measure, the clip concludes with ‘Braverman’ promising another video titled “Get Ready with Me: Rwanda Edition”. Oh dear God... Of course, Twitter/X users have been absolutely loving Chawawa’s biting critique, saying the comedian "never misses": Alongside her comments on homeless people, Braverman is currently facing criticism over an article published in The Times in which she claims there is a perception police officers “play favourites when it comes to protesters”, renewing calls for her to resign. Ivanka Trump's long neck has gone viral: "I can't unsee it"
In recent times, we’ve become accustomed to the Trump family making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Now, the internet is talking about Ivanka Trump for possibly one of the oddest reasons – the length of her neck. Interest in her lengthy neck occurred as she gave testimony in court at her father Donald Trump’s fraud trial, at which her presence being requested was enough to enrage her father. After her appearance on 8 November, pictures from inside the courtroom began to circulate on social media with people questioning if her neck was always that long. In court, she wore a navy blue suit and a white t-shirt with her blonde hair worn down in a loose curl. On X/Twitter, one user shared a picture of her taken from the court appearance and asked in the caption, “Is it me, or does Ivanka Trump have an extra long neck? Not photoshopped or doctored.” Someone else said, “Now I've seen how long Ivanka Trump’s neck is, I can’t unsee it”. Others turned the length of her neck into a joke, suggesting that, unlike the fictional character Pinocchio, whose nose grows longer when he lies, Ivanka Trump’s neck grows longer instead. Another joked: “Ivanka Trump: also distancing her head from the rest of her body. Because what in the brontosaurus is up with her neck?” In her testimony, Ivanka Trump said she could not “recall” many things she was being questioned about, namely her involvement with the valuation of her father’s assets. Donald Trump, along with his sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr, and other execs from the Trump Organization are being sued for defrauding banks and investors by overvaluing the former president’s net worth and assets – allegations they deny. Grandad who broke the internet by mistaking paint for yoghurt dies
The grandad who became an instant meme after eating paint believing it was yoghurt had died at the age of 91. Bobby found himself at the centre of internet attention in 2019 after his granddaughter Alex posted a photo of him on X/Twitter with paint around his mouth and a tub of paint with a spoon sticking out of it. She explained he accidentally ate it thinking it was yoghurt. He quickly became known as the "paint-eating grandpa" with the photo becoming a popular internet meme and videos of his antics being shared across social media. Writing on Instagram, his granddaughter shared the news that Bobby has died at the age of 91. She shared: “Today would’ve been Bobby’s 92nd birthday. For those who don’t know, he passed away peacefully in his sleep this June. And though he’s missed tremendously, he really did live a long, happy, healthy & fulfilling life as a doctor, musician, father, and grandfather.” She continued: “He loved nothing more than to make people laugh, so having the internet as his audience truly meant the world to him. Huge thanks to everyone who’s supported Bobby boy over the years — I’m confident you guys will keep his legend alive.” In the comments, people remembered Bobby fondly and spoke about how seeing his pictures and videos online was a big part of their online childhood.
