MrBeast pits people aged 1 to 100 against each other in new video which cost 'millions'
MrBeast has just released one of his most expensive and creative videos ever that almost broke a YouTube record and has been showered with praise for the quality of production and the amount of money poured into it. The 25-year-old YouTuber, the real name Jimmy Donaldson, has returned to one of his big-scale projects for his latest video after recently embarking on philanthropic endeavours such as helping people see and hear again. His new video was very different in comparison as was similar to something that you might see in Squid Game. It involved 100 contestants aged 1 to 100 all trapped inside clear plastic boxes. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter The idea is to see how long they could all last while inside the boxes until only one contestant remains with challenges arising to whittle down the players quicker. The winner will receive $500k as a reward. The video clocks in at 25 minutes and all things aside it is a genuinely well put together and compelling watch. Ages 1 - 100 Fight For $500,000 www.youtube.com At the time of writing, the video has been viewed more than 43 million times on YouTube which Donaldson claimed almost broke the record for the number of views on the platform within 24 hours. In the comments Donaldson added that he and his team had spent "millions of dollars and months working on this video, I hope you all liked it." It's fair to say that it has gone down well with his fans. One person wrote: "This is one of the best Mr. Beast videos ive ever seen. It had the competitiveness and drama that we expect from challenges but added great representation throughout all the ages and some amazing emotional and heartwarming roller coasters. Well done!" Another added: "This is by far my most favorite challenge from Jimmy!" A third said: "This was actually epic. Way to take elements of other reality shows and make it your own." We won't giveaway any spoilers but its worth sticking around for the entire video which has both a tense and wholesome ending. Have your say in our news democracy. This four question IQ test will reveal how smart you are
This four question IQ test will reveal how smart you are
At some stage in everyone's life, it would be nice to be considered intelligent or at least in possession of a high IQ. You can take all the IQ tests that you want and read the most complex books available to you but there must be an easier way of gauging how smart you are. Luckily for you and me, the great folks over at AsapSCIENCE have identified four questions that could help determine how much intelligence you possess. They assess your emotional intelligence, your verbal and non-verbal abilities, your musical-rhythmic intelligence and your visual intelligence. Sign up to our new free Indy100 weekly newsletter To partake in this mini-quiz watch the video below and listen carefully. How did you get on? Harder than you thought they would be, right? Well, as you may have noticed, there isn't one particular way to understand just how intelligent you are, as IQ can cover multiple traits and subjects. So, while you might be really clever at recognising whether the tone is right in a piece of music, you may have difficulty identifying the correct shape in a line-up of many. Of course, there is a chance that you got all of those questions right - but don't feel disheartened if you didn't. Intelligence can come in various forms and is sometimes assisted by your personal background and upbringing, and can't always be easily pinpointed through an IQ test. Boss fires employee after DNA test reveals they're related
Boss fires employee after DNA test reveals they're related
We’ve all had bad days at work, and some people will know how horrible being let go feels like, but we’ve never heard anything like this before… A woman has shared her experience after she was fired from her job after DNA revealed that she and her boss were related. It turns out the CEO was her secret half-brother, and the truth was only revealed after her father bought them all a DNA kit as a present. At the time, the woman didn’t know her dad had a "secret love child". Writing on Reddit, the woman said: “Dad's not the kind of guy to gift everyone DNA kits as a way of telling us he had a secret love child, so I don't think he knew he had another kid. “We're all grown-ups and know where babies come from and that things aren't always what we expect, so I have a feeling this is a shock to everyone." The woman then explained how her boss is a Texan, and her father lived in the state for a decade before he married her mother. The results showed that her CEO’s name was listed as her “half-sibling”. She wrote: "I've met the CEO a few times but he works out of the corporate headquarters across the country from the smaller division where I work. "About a week after I got my results, an email went out from the head of HR stating that all staff had to take a refresher training on nepotism. "The training also included a new clause that said something like 'staff are not entitled to privileges personal or professional if familial relation by genes or marriage to executive or management staff is known or unknown or discovered during employment'." Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter She came to learn that no other department in her company had been asked to complete the course, making her believe it was specifically aimed at her. "My manager later pulled me in personally to ask if I had any questions about the policy," the woman went on to write. "She was vague and uncomfortable, and I said I wanted to know why nobody else was brought in 1:1 to talk about the policy and why no other branch had to do the training. She just kind of ignored the question and said she was just following instructions, so now I think this was aimed at me." Things then took a strange turn, when she began to notice her work being deleted from the company’s drive. She said: "Things were quiet for a week until a major project I was working on was deleted from the company drive. "It was a coincidence that I had backed it up on a USB. Katie [my manager] was suspicious about my project getting deleted and told me to save everything to an external drive and my hardware, and sure enough, the project got deleted again. "After that, anything I put on our work servers was getting deleted within hours, as well as any correspondence with clients or my team members. "I started sending all my work communication and attachments to Katie and duplicating them on a USB that Katie kept locked in her office. It was like a James Bond movie. He 100 per cent tried to fire me." At that point, she was pulled into HR about an “anonymous concern" but she was defended by her manager. She wrote: “Katie must have known something like this was coming because she handled it and BCCd me on all her correspondence with HR and the executive team. "[She] outlined her concerns about the CEO's and HR's behaviour regarding the DNA results and that she believed someone was remotely accessing my work computer to delete things. "The company vice president (VP) was horrified. Up until this point, I didn't know CEBro wasn't the owner of the company. "Katie and I had a call with the VP that day, who assured me that the owners were being made aware of the situation and that my job was not in jeopardy. "The VP also apologized for the write-up attempt and the fact someone was obviously remotely accessing my work hardware." However, things then took a turn when she came into work the next day and was fired on the spot. She wrote: "The Monday after dad spoke to CEBro's mother, I was walking through the lobby when HR literally ambushed me and loudly fired me in front of a client and like twenty of my colleagues. "Security escorted me out in front of my friends and colleagues who had no idea what was happening so that was pretty dark and humiliating." Katie was on hand again to organise a meeting with the VP and explain the situation, but the VP decided to suspend her and the CEO pending investigation. "I was suspended with pay, which HR vehemently protested against. The suspension lasted a week and I had planned to spend that time looking for another job but I just didn't have it in me. "CEBro did not return after the suspension. I was offered my job back with an apology but I opted not to go back either and have been freelancing and taking some downtime because the last month has sucked. "I did accept a generous severance package, so at least they tried to do the right thing." Have your say in our news democracy. Google Street View catches couple 'having sex' on roadside
Google Street View catches couple 'having sex' on roadside
A suspicious couple appear to have been caught in the act - on Google Street View. The man and woman were standing on a vacant plot of land full of rubbish. The duo apparently travelled to the secluded area on a motorbike to enjoy a frisky encounter away from prying eyes. The woman appears to be half-naked while the man seems to be zipping himself up. They both seem to notice the Google Street View car. The couple was caught in the act in the neighbourhood of Paseo de Santa Fe, Juárez, Mexico. Google uses vehicles equipped with high-resolution cameras to capture every corner of the planet for their Street View service. However, the cameras occasionally capture people in compromising situations. In Mexico, residents have been filmed brawling, face planting the ground, and taking part in sex acts by the roadside, along with other unflattering incidents. Those captured in awkward situations by the cameras can ask Google for the images to be removed. Offended citizens can fill out a form in the Google support section and mention that the images were published without their consent.

'Airpods' spotted on performer at 2008 Olympics
A throwback clip from the 2008 Olympics has stirred up a debate over a time travel conspiracy theory as someone appeared to be wearing an AirPod - despite the earphone launching years later. In the clip posted by Justin (@yessirbrother) back in 2020, he noted in the caption how he had been "just appreciating the Beijing opening ceremony," when the camera panned to one particular performed which had a white plastic earphone in his right ear yet none of the other performers had this. The shape and colour look similar to that of an AirPod, but given that this product wasn't launched by Apple until eight years later in 2016, people have questioned how it appears to be in a clip from 2008. Someone else added: "That is crazy....No one else has AirPod," and a fourth commented: "YOO I JUST CHECKED ITS REAL." However, those weren't quite as convinced and believed there was a reasonable explanation for this. One person noted: "Bluetooth earbuds existed for a long time before AirPods." "Once again not real. Cat owners go 'ballistic' at neighbour who neutered their pet without permission
Cat owners go 'ballistic' at neighbour who neutered their pet without permission
An anonymous person has been absolutely berated by their neighbour after they admitted to having their cat neutered without asking. The admission came in a Reddit post on the site’s Am I The A**hole community, where the person explained what they had done and how it led to their neighbour going “ballistic” at them. In the post, the person explained that they run a trap–neuter–return scheme among local strays and were recently called to an area with a lot of strays. They explained: “They were everywhere and I mostly ended up handing it over to professionals. “I did, however, manage to grab three very sweet cats. Two were terrified, skinny, a little beaten up, but overall friendly. The third one was a little gent.” The person explained that the third male cat had a collar, was tubby and well-groomed, indicating it had an owner. Explaining that they had a choice between locating the cat’s owners and dropping him off, or taking him to get neutered, the poster revealed they did the latter. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter They wrote: “Ultimately I took him with me and got him neutered. No chip so I called the number on his tag and informed them where their cat was and gave them time slots to pick him up or have him dropped off. “The owners went ballistic. They were cursing me out and came to collect their cat not twenty minutes later. Called me a kidnapper, blamed me for their child having nightmares (scared over their cat going missing).” While the person attempted to defend themselves, arguing they “have a duty to care for stray cats”, they didn’t garner a lot of sympathy in the post’s comments. One Redditor argued: “You did kidnap their cat and made a (superbly arrogant) decision to have him neutered without the owner's permission. “You can judge them all you want for letting their cat outside, but the first thing to have done was to call the cat's people and asked ‘Hey, I found your cat. Did you know he was outside?’ That's the basic due diligence, right there.” However, another Redditor also argued that while the original poster was in the wrong, the owners were also being irresponsible for letting their unneutered male cat out of the house. They wrote: “Everyone sucks here. The owners for letting an intact pet outside unsupervised to breed, and you for having a surgical medical procedure done to an animal (that you KNEW had owners) without the owner’s consent. “Regardless of the morality of allowing pets to contribute to the stray population (for which the owner is an a**hole), making medical decisions for someone else's pet makes you a massive a**hole.” Have your say in our news democracy. Influencer criticised for laughing at housekeeper cleaning up dog poo
A Spanish influencer is in hot water after posting a video of herself laughing as her father's housekeeper picked up dog poo. Gloria Camilla Ortega has since deleted the post she made earlier this week but it has since circulated online as the clip has caused backlash. In the video, Ortega is out on a walk with one of her pet dogs along with housekeeper, Marina and the 27-year-old asks her to pick up her pet's feces. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter “How does it feel Marina?” Ortega asks Marina who is reaching down to pick up the poo. “A bit warm,” Marina replied. “Very good,” the influencer commented and then informed the housekeeper that there are two more pieces of excrement to collect .Ortega can also be heard laughing just before the video ends. Reddit - Dive into anything from antiwork People have since slammed Ortega, accusing her of "humiliating" the housekeeper and calling her "vile," and "narcissistic" for making the video. Since then, Ortega - who is the daughter of Spanish bullfighter José Ortega Cano and the late singer Rocío Jurado - has responded to the hate in a new post on Thursday (May 25) to her 840,000 Instagram followers. Some of the images include herself and Marina sat together with smiley faces. “I am beginning to find your comments about Marina unbearable," she wrote in Spanish. Ortega also fired back at those calling her "classist," by accusing them of being the same. “The first classists are you,” she declared. “If I had done it with another person, friend or someone who did not ‘work for my father’ you would have taken it differently.” She then went on to describe her close relationship with Marina. “Marina is much more than an ’employee,'” she declared. “Marina is family, Marina is love, Marina is joy, she is my handkerchief, and she is like a second mother to me and I love her very much. And only those who know us know that.” Though the comment section on the video remains divided, with some still criticising the influencer. One person wrote: "How little humility you have." "I would never do that not even with my family, it's called education, respect, values etc" another person said. Someone else added: "What a way to justify yourself more poop." But also received messages of support from followers too. "If I were you, I wouldn't give these people a minute!" one person said. Another person wrote: "Don't mind them Gloria Camila. Controversial TikToker 'Mizzy' blamed for disrupting Sidemen's charity match in 2022
Controversial TikToker 'Mizzy' blamed for disrupting Sidemen's charity match in 2022
Controversial TikToker Mizzy has been in the headlines recently, and now it’s been claimed that he was behind the disruptions to last year’s Sidemen charity match. The Sidemen were forced to apologise to people with tickets who weren’t able to get into the stadium for the Sidemen Charity Match on September 24. “Unfortunately however due to a small minority attempting to break into the stadium, we were forced to lock the gates meaning a number of you weren’t able to get in despite having tickets,” they said at the time. They said the choice to lock the gates and block some fans “was a security and safety decision.” Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Now, Stuart Jones, who is the founder of Upload Agency and Sidemen's agent, has claimed that it was Mizzy who was responsible. Writing on Twitter, he said: “For those of you who were locked out of the @Sidemen charity match last year, this was the moron that caused it btw.” Jones also claimed that Mizzy, real name Bacari-Bronze O'Garro, stole Prime Hydration drinks from VIP suites and tried to break into the stadium. "Correct, and robbing the VIP suits of all the Prime, and running around outside, trying to break in, causing the stadium to lock down,” Jones wrote, replying to another user. Footage has also recirculated online which shows Mizzy run on the pitch during the game. Mizzy was recently arrested for filming himself walking into people's houses. He also branded Piers Morgan a 'moron' for challenging him over his behaviour on his show, which saw him intimidate members of the public, including stealing someone's dog in a park. Hours before this interview, O’Garro appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a community protection notice issued last May. As a result he was given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) today for a period of two years that will expire in May 2025. This order means O’Garro must not publish social media content without the consent of the people included, nor trespass or go to the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford. What are beige flags? The new TikTok trend that means you are too boring to date
What are beige flags? The new TikTok trend that means you are too boring to date
There's no denying dating can be complicated – and just as we've become familiar with red flags, there's now a rainbow of colours added to the mix. There are green flags (positive indicators the relationship is compatible), pink flags (minor issues or relationship concerns that should be monitored) – and now beige flags. Coined by TikToker Caitlin MacPhail, beige flags essentially outline a dull, uninteresting person with a generic dating profile that gives the impression they can't be bothered. Typical examples are using puppy pics (that don't belong to them) as a substitute to cover up for lack of personality, or making love of coffee your quirk. Beige flags differ from person to person, as everyone has different interests and relationship ideas. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter "If someone has a lot of beige flags on their profile, you’ll probably get to the end of it without having really learnt anything about them," Caitlin told Mashable. "Something about whether chocolate belongs in the fridge or the cupboard, them saying that they’ll probably love their dog more than you, or lots of gym selfies and references to the gym are typical beige flags," she continued. In a viral clip that racked up over half a million views, Caitlin outlined her top beige flags – and if you're into any mainstream sitcoms, you might want to sit this one out. beige is the new red and in other news dating apps are a wasteland 🚩 #hinge #redflags #datingredflags #hingedating @itscaito beige is the new red and in other news dating apps are a wasteland 🚩 #hinge #redflags #datingredflags #hingedating beige is the new red, and in other news, dating apps are a wasteland 🚩 #hinge #redflags #datingredflags #hingedating Caitlin's "beige flags" has become such a TikTok phenomenon that she now regularly reviews dating profiles in a game called "R U BEIGE??" The infamous 'Taured man from a parallel universe’ mystery explained
The infamous 'Taured man from a parallel universe’ mystery explained
Throughout history, there have been occasional little mysteries that have centered around supposed “time travellers” claiming to be from parallel dimensions. One occurred in Ukraine back in 2006, which saw a man claiming to be from years in the past turn up in Kyiv without much in the way of explanation. Another centres around the man who tried to pass himself off as being from the non-existent country of Taured and hailing ‘from a parallel universe’. There are various stories that centre on the man from Taured, with many claiming the urban legend to be fact. The story goes that back in July 1954 a Caucasian man with a beard arrived at Haneda Airport, also known as Tokyo International Airport. After security staff grew suspicious of his identity, the passport check showed that a country called “Taured” was listed as his nationality. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter “Taured”, of course, doesn’t exist. However, the man stated it had been a nation for more than 1,000 years and pointed at Andorra on the map, claiming it was located there. The Man From Taured www.youtube.com Amid the confusion, the man was taken to a hotel and put in a room. Two guards were placed outside the room until security staff were able to further investigate. Only, when the room was later opened, the man was missing. What was especially baffling was that the police established that he could not have escaped via his window as the room was too high up and there was no balcony. While many online believe the story to be gospel truth, the fact of the matter is that the truth behind the story is something much more mundane. As Snopes reports, the tale is a “greatly embellished and fantastical version of a far less sensational real story”. In reality, the site states that the story was likely inspired by the real figure of John Allen Kuchar Zegrus who presented a fake passport from the state of “Tuarid” and was swiftly arrested in Japan in 1959. While little detail is known about him, it’s thought that the man used the fake passport to travel through the Middle East before he was arrested and sentenced to a year in prison after cashing forged cheques in Japan. Groom exposes wife's affair with best man in furious wedding speech
A groom has been hailed a "legend" for his well-timed exposé of his cheating partner. In an episode of the popular podcast, The Unfiltered Bride, wedding planners Georgina and Beth shared the shocking story of how one man got the ultimate revenge on his wedding day. Georgie recalled the story allegedly told by a third party. She explained: "[The] groom stands up and says ‘Just before I like properly get started, there’s envelopes coming round now, if you could all open them up." He then went on to reportedly tell the guests: "'Yeah, those are pictures of the bride f***ed the best man, so I’ll be leaving now.'" The man then reportedly stormed out with his family. One fellow TikToker joked: "Imagine the other guests just sitting there like ... 'So ... will there still be cake or ...'" "Life is all about timing! What a legend," another chimed in, while a third commented: "Well, I'm getting a big slice of cake, taking my gift card back, and heading out." It comes after a scientist from the University of Oxford revealed the key signs that your partner could be cheating on you. Among the hints are social media secrets, new vanity and avoiding speaking about a specific person. He went on to suggest that men "want more partners for the sake of having more partners." Painting from 1937 shows man using an 'iPhone'
A painting from 1937 has people wondering if time travel is real after it seemingly shows a Native American man using an "iPhone" while doing the "Sorry, I have to take this call" hand gesture. The painting called Mr. Pynchon and the Settling of Springfield was created by Italian artist Umberto Romano. It depicts a colonist and founder of Springfield, Massachusetts, William Pynchon, amid the city's development. Pynchon eventually went on to write The Meritorious Price of Our Redemption in 1650, the first book to ever be banned in Boston and burned in the Boston Common, as noted in the Smithsonian's National Postal Museum. Interestingly, Vice reported that Pynchon was an ancestor of the acclaimed and elusive novelist Thomas Pynchon. This is all intriguing stuff, but what really captures the attention is that a Native American man in the image seemed to encounter a message that took him by surprise. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter The image has been shared on social media with some commentary on Reddit with some concocting scenarios about the Native American and the man tied up behind him. "Looks like they are going through the tied-up guy's browser history. Thinking maybe we should untie him. He seems to be into this kinda thing," one wrote. Another added: "Sure as hell does. Including the look on guy's face, like he just saw his most recent post got downvoted into oblivion." Other people on Twitter jokingly tried to figure out what "kind" of iPhone the man was using in the picture. "Is it a gold iPhone?" one asked, while someone else added, "Space Grey?" Romano, the artist of the painting, crafted another piece of artwork that looks like a woman watching something on an iPad, despite it being painted several decades before the technology had been created. A possible explanation for the smartphone-appearing device in the Mr.Pynchon painting could be a hand mirror, a popular trade item to use. He could also be examining an axe head.
