A woman has gone viral for compiling a long list of different venues she refuses to go to on a first date. The post was first shared on Facebook and has since found its way onto Twitter/X, and people have a lot to say about it. “Here is a list of places women absolutely refused to go on a first date,” the post says, before acknowledging other women who added their suggestions to the record. “Thank you to the ladies who reached out to help me on my list.” Some of the prohibited sports include any fast food chain, coffee dates, ice cream dates, and even a bar just for drinks. Laura Woods has slammed a misogynist troll who sexually harassed her online, following her on-air failed handshake with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag this week. The TNT Sports presenter had retweeted a video of ten Hag accidentally leaving her hanging when she tried to shake his hand at the end of an interview. In the clip, she turns to the camera and laughs, shaking her hand in the air after the football manager inadvertently turned away her offer of a handshake. Unfortunately, one creepy troll on X/Twitter decided this was the time to make an unwanted sexual advance on the journalist. Woods hit back: “And will you provide the microscope too?” Surprisingly, the troll account has not yet taken down the post, despite the fact that commenters flocked to support Woods. Her tweet has over 7.3m views and 53,900 likes with most of the 2,000 reposts and thousands of replies praising Woods. One person replied with a crown emoji saying: “LAURA WOODS YOU DROPPED THIS.” Meanwhile, somebody else replied directly to the troll, saying: “Steven, based on your follows it doesn't look like hands are your preference. Over the four-part documentary series, viewers follow the ups and downs of the footballing legend’s life and career. At the start of his career in the early nineties, when the Spice Girls also reigned supreme in their respective field, we witness his blossoming relationship with the then Victoria Adams, also known as Posh Spice. The couple has now been married for 24 years and one particular scene in the documentary stole viewers' hearts as they began dancing together at their Cotswolds home to the song 'Islands in the Stream' by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. Viewers noticed that, without speaking, Victoria initiated a dance together and David joined in with no hesitation. Paris Hilton has hit back at people on the internet who mocked the physical appearance of her baby boy, Phoenix. The reality television stalwart had posted a picture of the child, who is nine months old, on Instagram, saying it was her “precious angel baby’s” first time in New York. But some commenters picked up on the size of Phoenix’s head. One person joked: “Y’all he’s just got a lot on his mind leave the kid alone.” Others speculated whether or not Phoenix’s large head was a result of a medical condition. Hotel heiress Hilton responded in the comments section: “There are some sick people in this world. “My angel is perfectly healthy. And yes, of course he has been to a doctor, he just has a large brain.” Hilton and her husband, businessman Carter Reum, welcomed Phoenix on 16 January. They married in 2021. An elementary school teacher has divided opinion on social media after she was filmed giving a young pupil “birthday spankings”. The clip, which has been shared across TikTok, shows the woman beaming as she brandishes a large, wooden ruler and the boy braces for impact. The child is smiling, too, as he clutches the table, and she swings her makeshift paddle. Thankfully, the teacher stops before making contact, as she repeats a swing for each year of his life. The harrowing revelations in Britney Spears’s new memoir are an uncomfortable reminder of how women were treated in the ‘90s and noughties. Objectification, ridicule and “slut”-shaming were a core part of the so-called lads culture that shaped so much of popular culture at the time. Now, anyone thinking, “It can’t have been that bad,” should take a look at a video montage that’s been doing the rounds on social media. The one-minute clip was shared by fitness influencer Hayley Madigan earlier this month, with the caption: “POV: You grew up in the 90’s and now realise why your relationship with your body was so bad…” The round-up begins with an excerpt from an interview between Dutch TV presenter Ivo Niehe and a 17-year-old Britney. Somewhat breathlessly, he tells her: “Everyone’s talking about it…” prompting the teenager to innocently ask: “What?” “Well, he replies, your breasts.” It then cuts to American radio star Howard Stern telling former Playboy model Anna Nicole Smith: “The way you dress and stuff, I don’t think you’re aware that you’re a heavy-set woman.” “I know I’m a big woman, so what?” she replies. He then tells her he’s been “guessing her weight” and asks her to step on some scales to check how well he did. We then see Scott Disick telling Kourtney Kardashian: “If I would have fallen in love with you a couple pounds overweight (sic), this would be my ideal weight, but I fell in love with you when you were super skinny." Next, it’s the turn of Simon Cowell, who tells an X Factor contestant that she “sounds nice but looks like a shop girl.” Clarifying, she says: “I’m overweight, basically,” to which he responds: “You really are.” Speaking of weight (and people did, a lot), we’re then treated to a clip from the now-axed Channel 4 show TFI Friday. The segment, from 1999, was filmed just two months after Victoria Beckham gave birth to her first son Brooklyn. After asking her how she got back into shape after the birth, host Chris Evans then asks if her weight was now “back to normal”. She tells him that “it is”, but he’s not satisfied. “Can I check?” he then asks, jumping from his seat and leading her to a set of bathroom scales. The penultimate excerpt is taken from a Jay Leno monologue, in which he tells viewers of his Tonight Show: “Monica Lewinsky said that President Clinton would often compliment her on her figure. “He would say things like, ‘Oh, you look skinny today.’” Pausing, Leno then doled out his punchline, saying: “You know, if you didn’t think this guy was the biggest liar in the world before…” which was met with peals of laughter from his audience. Finally, another scene from Keeping Up With the Kardashians, in which Bruce (now Caitlin) Jenner, tells his step-daughter Khloé: “I’ll get shot for bringing this up but don’t you think you should lose a few pounds?” Shaking her head dejectedly, she simply replies: “What?” The compilation racked up more than 5.4 million views and 200,000 likes in just three weeks on Madigan’s Instagram alone. In a statement accompanying the reel, the self-styled “female empowerment” guru wrote: “Whether it was in magazines, on talk shows or on reality TV… we continuously watched women get criticised. “We watched men talk negatively about women’s appearances, about their weight, about their body autonomy… and this complete disregard for women’s dignity forced a societal pressure amongst many of us who were growing up watching it.” Reflecting on her own response, she went on: “I constantly compared myself even at the young age of 12 I remember wanting to be as skinny as possible like the models on the TV. I had no desire to be anything but exactly what they looked like and I deemed them to be perfect. “I constantly heard negative opinions about women who weren’t perfect, women who weren’t small and women who didn’t fit the ideal stereotype that men created.” Wrapping up her message, she continued: “Seeing these talk shows and reality TV clips hits hard, women weren’t treated equally, we were continuously degraded and this put pressure on all of us growing up.” Then, concluding on a note of optimism, she added: “We’ve still not got to where we want to be but I feel somewhat change is happening and we will make sure the generations to come don’t endure the same pressure and issues we faced back then.” Commentators were quick to share their horror at the montage, with many condemning what they termed “male audacity” at the time. Spears recounts how when she and Timberlake were dating, they ran into the rapper Genuine whilst the pair were walking down the street in New York City. Timberlake said "Oh yeah, fo' shiz fo' shiz. A man was left raging after a self-service checkout machine asked him to leave a tip. While tipping is expected in some parts of the world, the customer was understandably left feeling baffled after being asked by a kiosk. The man simply purchased a chicken caesar wrap and a bottle of water at an airport shop, when the machine asked whether he'd like to leave a 15, 18 or 20 per cent tip. It didn't take long for Reddit users to jump in on the action, with one candidly asking: "Tip who exactly?" Another wrote: "This is especially annoying given how overpriced everything is at the airport. Then they have the nerve to ask for a tip". Meanwhile, a third joked: "Sure, it looks bad at first. A diehard Drake fan has turned to creative measures in an attempt to grab the rapper's attention to invite him to her sweet 16th birthday bash. "Drake, you're invited to my Sweet 16. Children have begun organising their own pro-Palestine protests in Roblox, in the wake of the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. Twitter/X user @funnecfox shared on Monday that their fifteen-year-old cousin "couldn't join a protest so she just went to one on on Roblox." And she is one of hundreds of children protesting in virtual worlds to supplement the fact that they cannot attend protests in real life. Responding to the original announcement of such protests, another user replied with a video showing hundreds of Roblox avatars marching with Palestinian flag with signs saying "Solidarity Untukmu Palestine" ("Solidarity for you Palestine"). Climate activist Greta Thunberg has become the latest victim of deepfakes, after a video of her appearing on the BBC in November 2022 was digitally edited to show her supporting "sustainable" war tanks and weaponry. A video was shared on Twitter/X that originated from the YouTube channel Snicklink - which posts edited video for satire - and was titled "Greta Thunberg: VEGAN WARS #satire." The video had 'SATIRE' in the bottom right hand corner. In the edited clip Thunberg seemingly says: "War is always bad, specifically for the planet. If we want to continue fighting battles like environmentally conscious humans, we must make the change to sustainable tanks and weaponry. "If you use hand grenades, please use vegan grenades. No animal should have to give their life for this mayhem and chaos. They have a special sticker on them. You really can't miss them in the grenade market, or wherever you buy them. The video which has been viewed over 3 million times according to Twitter/X has a community note attached to it letting viewers know that "Greta's mouth and her voice were deepfaked". Whilst it is fairly easy to tell the video is edited when looking close enough, or even simply noticing the massive 'SATIRE' sign in the corner, many were seemingly fooled. "This can only come from a moron in the west [with] no actual real life problems," wrote one riled up user: "Why is anybody listening to this deluded clown girl?" wrote another. The deepfake used genuine footage of the 20-year-old appearing on the BBC to promote her book The Climate Book, where she spoke about climate anxiety and her activism. Modern dating can sometimes feel like the Wild West, with apps making it easier for people to connect and providing the internet with a never ending flow of bizarre stories. One woman recently went viral after explaining her date ditched her after ordering 48 oysters and leaving her with a huge bill. Another ended up finding the wedding website of the man she had been dating for six weeks on Google. It seems the terrible dating experiences are never ending, as TikToker Chloee (@chloeemlindsay) has gone viral after sharing her date’s “outrageous” message claiming that he wishes she had less “less self-respect” so he could date her. In the video, which has been viewed more than 3 million times, Chloee shared a screenshot of the baffling message sent to her by a Hinge date. They wrote: “Quite honestly I think I need someone with a little less self respect lmaoo.” The message continued, with the guy claiming that she had her “s*** together” and essentially admitting that, because of this, she was too much effort for him. He continued: “A girl with less confidence and standards doesn’t know she isn’t being treated ‘right’ or not because she will just have whatever affection she can get (meaning I can give less effort. Not in a malicious way but yeah) and obviously you’re not like that.” In the comments, people couldn’t quite believe their eyes and that the man actually admitted to it.
