Was a student expelled for doing the 'Ceiling Challenge' on TikTok?
A university student was allegedly expelled after taking part in the now viral “Ceiling Challenge” on TikTok. TikTok has become a platform known for its ever-changing viral trends that capture the imagination of its mostly Gen Z users, with recent trends including the Beckham dance test and the girlfriend affect trend. The “Ceiling Challenge” is the latest trend to take over the platform and it may have even got one student expelled from university for taking part in it. What is the viral “Ceiling Challenge” on TikTok? The viral ceiling challenge involves TikTokers taping their mobile phone to a ceiling and filming themselves alone, or with their friends, dancing from a bird’s eye view. The challenge is set to the song “Surround Sound” by the American rapper and singer J.I.D. One of the earliest instances was a video shared by TikToker @michaelfirshort on 6 October which has been viewed 3.6 million times. @michaelfirshort #LearnItOnTikTok #CapCut #phoneonceiling #funny #foryoupage #teacherday #fypシ゚viral Since then, the challenge has gone viral with hundreds of videos of other people emulating it, including one filmed by some rowdy retirement home residents. @retirementhouse GANGGGG But, while the challenge may seem like a harmless bit of fun, one university student in Nigeria was allegedly expelled from the institution for doing the challenge. The student was reportedly attending Madonna University in Okija, Nigeria when a video of her twerking to the song went viral and led to her expulsion when university staff saw it. indy100 has contacted Madonna University for comment. TikTokers are using the 'glitter' to catch their cheating partners
Suspicious people online are turning to a very unique tactic to try and catch cheating partners, and it involves glitter. In a viral TikTok clip posted by Chrissy (@chrissy.j.xx), she explains how placing glitter inside the passenger seat mirror can expose a partner's affair. Their idea is, if the glitter is no longer there, the man is potentially chauffering around another woman in their car – which of course, is not entirely true and quite far-fetched. Fellow TikTokers took to the comments, with one writing: "How the f*** does that prove anything, like no one else can't use that mirror just girls only? Big brain". Another added: "Or…. You could just leave?!" @chrissy.j.xx we all know a girl will look in that mirror at some point 😏 glitter doesnt lie✨️ NOT BASED ON A TRUE STORY #relatable #relationships #hack #glittergirl Speaking of cheating, one study has lifted the lid on the most unfaithful towns in the UK with Guildford, Surrey coming out on top. The research suggested the surge in affairs is a result of the cost of living crisis, making it financially difficult for unhappy couples to divorce. Coming in at a close second was Borehamwood in Hertfordshire, with just under five per cent admitting to adultery. Cambuslang in South Lanarkshire came in third place with 1,064 cheats. The month of September is also said to have the highest amount of affairs, according to the discreet dating website, Illicit Encounters. "Affairs always traditionally peaked in January but, while New Year cheating is still really high, autumn is now the peak time for adultery," Jessica Leoni, sex and relationship expert said. "Lots of us get sick of a partner after two weeks away in the sun, and we return to work determined to have some fun with someone new. "The pandemic has made more of us live for the moment and shake up our lives if things are not working." iShowSpeed condemned for dangerous 'coke and condom' challenge on live stream
iShowSpeed has attracted controversy after attempting a dangerous “coke and condom challenge” on his live stream. The streamer, real name Darren Jason Watkins Jr., shocked viewers by putting a blown-up condom over his head on camera. He then attempted to drink a bottle of Coca-Cola after adding Mentos to it, creating a “soda geyser” and causing the drink to fizz up. The challenge is, of course, very dangerous – but it didn’t stop iShowSpeed attempting and ultimately failing to complete it. "I didn't do it! I didn't do it! I didn't do it!” he said, speaking to his viewers. “Chat, that wasn't the one! No, that wasn't the one! I know how to do it now!” He then exclaimed: “Let's f*** ourselves up! Let's f*** ourselves up!" The challenge attracted plenty of negative comments, with one pointing out that he was setting a bad example for his younger fans. "He's doing it for clout now, not (the) happiness of his viewers. He forgot that most of his audience are children,” one wrote. Another said: "This the kinda stuff a 7 year old would do unattended." One more added: "No on over the age of 12 finds this remotely funny or entertaining. Can we stop giving him a platform?" A user wrote: "Bro losing it fr." iShowSpeed has put his health at risk with challenges on his stream before. He previously required urgent medical attention after one of his stunts went wrong. On 3 October, the 18-year-old went live to showcase a science experiment in which he made "devils' toothpaste." The ingredients consisted of Hydrogen Peroxide, yeast and dish soap to create a chemical reaction, which soon backfired when smoke filled up the room and he was seen struggling to breathe Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter How to join the indy100's free WhatsApp channel Have your say in our news democracy. Strange naked 'creature' spotted on Google Street View
A strange naked creature with long, floppy arms has been spotted on Google Street View. The bizarre figure appears to be running across a field with its elongated limbs flailing behind it. The nude creature was spotted on a desolate road. It was seen near the Bears Ears Visitor Center in the town of Buff, southeast of Salt Lake City, Utah, US. Online sleuths have been baffled about what it could be. However, the truth behind the creepy creature was disappointing to many. The naked figure is actually a farm scarecrow used to deter unwanted animals and curious visitors. Wacky scarecrows are quite common in the remote town. Earlier this year, a ‘radioactive mutant’ was spotted at an abandoned fairground in Chernobyl on Google Street View. The Chernobyl nuclear disaster took place in April 1986 when tens of thousands of people were evacuated, mainly from the city of Pripyat in northern Ukraine. Today, Pripyat remains an abandoned ‘ghost town’ within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. TikTok user ‘Arianleonel’ posted a clip of him perusing areas of Pripyat on Google Maps. The video shows him searching around the fairground before spotting something unusual near the decrepit Ferris wheel. He zooms in to reveal a person in a purple jacket lurking behind a tree. Eric Trump mocked for comparing his family's assets to the Mona Lisa
Eric Trump is being mocked for comparing his family's assets to the Mona Lisa amid their ongoing civil fraud trial. Former President Donald Trump and his family are being sued by New York Attorney General Letitia James for $250 million. The Trumps are being accused of inflating the former President's own net worth and the value of his assets by billions of dollars from 2011 to 2021 to secure better deals and loans. In light of the accusations, Trump and his family have denied them and claimed prosecutors of being politically motivated and attempting to harm Trumps' 2024 presidential campaign. During a Saturday evening appearance on Fox News, Eric Trump claimed that his family properties are "worth a fortune", calling them the "Mona Lisas of the real estate world." Democratic political strategist Adam Parkhomenko wrote, "I honestly didn't think Eric Trump could get any dumber." Tim O'Brien, political analyst for MSNBC said: "The kids get all their talking points from their dad." Last month, New York Judge Arthur Engoron ruled last month that fraud was committed by Trump, his adult sons, their businesses, and executives. As a result, they will be held civilly liable to an extent to be determined throughout the rest of the trial. Other accusations include falsifying business records, insurance fraud, and conspiracy claims. Engoron himself will rule on the charges. The result could see the Trump family lose some of their famous "Mona Lisa" properties, as well as being barred from doing business in New York. Kay Burley criticised for 'fat shaming' David Cameron after unexpected return
Following the sacking of the home secretary Suella Braverman, prime minister Rishi Sunak has initiated a cabinet reshuffle that has raised some eyebrows thanks to the familiar face of David Cameron, who has surprisingly been appointed foreign secretary. With all eyes (and news cameras) on Number 10, broadcasters were shocked when former PM Cameron emerged from a car that pulled up to Downing Street shortly after the Braverman announcement. Broadcasting live on Sky News, cameras recorded the comings and goings at Downing Street as Kay Burley and Sky News’ deputy political editor Sam Coates commentated over the footage. As Cameron emerged from a black Land Rover, Burley appeared to be in shock and began laughing in disbelief, saying, “I was not expecting that!”. Coates explained what Cameron has done since resigning as the Conservative leader in 2016 following the Leave vote, saying he “never really found his feet after leaving the job of Prime Minister”, having done various jobs and written a memoir. Burley chimed in, commenting that Cameron had also “put on weight” – comments that were very quickly criticised as fat shaming. One person pointed out: “Nah, Kay Burley is so mean. How can she list what David Cameron’s been doing since leaving office, and she says he ‘put on weight.’ What’s that got to do with anything?” Someone else wrote: “‘Put on weight’. Imagine if that was a female ex-PM. The hypocrisy is hilarious.” “Kay Burley is dreadful at her job, obviously, but I wasn't expecting her to fat shame David Cameron for no reason,” someone else argued. Another asked Burley directly: “@KayBurley did you seriously just say, in a list of David Cameron’s post-PM achievements, that he has put on weight??? “Come on. You’re supposed to be a journalist. Imagine you said that about a woman - it’s not ok to fat shame.” The former Prime Minister has been made foreign secretary in Rishi Sunak’s government reshuffle. The shock appointment has seen Cameron enter the Lords to enable him to take up the role. Elsewhere, James Cleverly has been made home secretary following the sacking of Braverman. indy100 has contacted Kay Burley’s representative for comment. Influencer who got boyfriend's name tattooed on her head comes clean after going viral
It’s amazing what grown adults will do for a bit of attention on social media – not least, an influencer who claimed to have got her boyfriend’s name tattooed across her forehead. Now, it has emerged it was all fake. Ana Stanskovsky posted a video last week in which a tattoo artist appeared to have inked her face with the name Kevin. Even then, commenters did not believe it was real, but Stanskovsky said: “Yes, it’s real. I can’t even believe it myself that I did it.” “I know it’s a little bit crazy. But I like to express my feelings, and I think if you really love someone you should be able to show it off.” She said that everyone on social media telling her it isn’t real was leaving her “sick and tired”. “I don’t know why people think getting such a big tattoo on your forehead is a big deal...You can still find a job and stuff.” “If we break up, I will just have to find myself a different Kevin.” But a week later, to the shock of very few people, she revealed the tattoo isn’t real.. Stanskovsky, who has a number of tattoos all across her body, posted a video on social media where she wiped off the word from her forehead. @anastanskovsky My new face tattoo ❤️ She said: “All I want to say is that I regret my tattoo...but not this one.” “Because this is not actually a real tattoo. “And the reason why I tricked the whole internet is that I have a message to young people and all of the people who want to get covered in tattoos. “I want everyone to know that I regret my tattoos and you might regret yours when you get older. “And as a person fully covered in tattoos, I feel like this is my responsibility to speak up, share my experience, and when people see me on social media the first thing they notice about me is my tattoos. “So if I influence people, I want to influence people in the right way.” However, for one commenter, it appears it was too late. The person commented beneath her video: "Too late, now i have a forehead tattoo." Let's hope they're also joking, eh? How to get the viral T27 Christmas tree that TikTok is obsessed with
With the festive season fast approaching, TikTokers have seemingly gone into Christmas mode as people are already obsessed with a particular Christmas tree that everyone wants to get their hands on. TikTok is known for making some of the most bizarre things go viral, including everything from Pink Sauce to putting a toilet roll in your fridge. However, even though it’s only November, things have taken a more festive turn as the T27 Christmas Tree has become all the rage, making it tricky for people to get hold of. What is the TikTok famous T27 Christmas Tree? The T27 Christmas tree has gone viral on TikTok, but what many might not realise is that the tree is artificial. Unlike a real tree, it won’t drop needles all over the floor and helpfully comes pre-lit, with all the LED lights already attached, making it possibly the easiest tree to put up for the Christmas period. On TikTok, users have been sharing videos of their T27 Christmas trees, showing how they look straight after being put up. @mermaid1723 #T27 #christmastree #homedepot In the comments of one clip, TikToker @mermaid1723 revealed she bought her tree at the American store Home Depot, but explained that when she checked after her purchase, it was already sold out. Others shared unboxing videos that saw them setting up their viral trees that were instantly illuminated by a remote control. @luxxyy This was worth every penny! #grandduchesstree #homedepot #t27 #t28 #christmastree #grandduchessbalsamfir #christmas2023 #christmas #diychristmas #christmasdecor One TikToker commented: “That is so pretty.” Another wrote: “I’ve never seen a tree so pretty it didn’t need ornaments on it. Young woman flooded with sexist comments after asking for DIY help
A woman was bombarded with sexist comments on TikTok after asking followers a simple DIY question. The Australian TikToker Lex (@lexxxratcliffe) asked: "Do you know what this is? Because I thought this was a goddamn drill." She added: "It just doesn't work." While some fellow TikTokers kindly helped her out, others were quick to flood the comments section with sexist remarks. "Oml, please someone get this girl a man. I'd hate to see what she does behind a wheel," one misogynistic comment read which racked up 60,000 likes, while another account named after their love for Andrew Tate mocked: "Independent strong woman." "I offer myself as a boyfriend and teacher," a third added. @lexxxratcliffe It comes after another woman was slammed for decorating her boyfriend's apartment, in what she thought was a lovely gesture. TikTok user Emma Ganzarain (@emmaganzarain) innocently turned to the platform to showcase a series of before and after photos. "All men need a woman in their life," she wrote, along with the hashtags 'transformation,' 'interior' and 'living room inspo'. Despite her efforts, over 50,000 fellow TikTokers flocked to the clip with their brutal takes. "His soul is no longer in that space," one wrote. "Stop trying to fix the men in your life and learn to love them for who they are and the way they want to decorate." Another added: "Sis he has STYLE. the before was SOO cute and had so much character." Lena the Plug & Adam22 launch reality show where winner can sleep with them
Adult stars Lena the Plug and her husband Adam22 have announced a new reality show with a bizarre plot twist: the winner gets to sleep with them. For the Love of Lena will see ten male contestants battle it out to be crowned the winner, with the likes of TikToker Cripmac and pornstar John Legendary being among those taking part. The show is set to start on YouTube on Monday (13 November) – but the NSFW scene will later be available on OnlyFans. The pornstars tied the knot in May after seven years together. They have since made headlines for their unique podcast with X-rated endings and lifestyle choices, including Lena filming a NSFW scene with fellow adult star Jason Luv. Adam22 received a lot of backlash for it, prompting Lena to address the criticisms to TMZ while outside a supermarket. "I feel bad for him [Adam] because I'm having a lot of positive reaction whilst he's having a lot of negative reaction," she told the outlet. "I'm getting hated too, but I do feel like there's a big dump on him. He can handle it, he's a big boy." She continued: "I feel like everyone should do what makes them happy as long as they're not hurting anyone. There's way weirder sexual things out there than what we currently have going on."
