Taylor Swift fan puts contact lenses that have 'seen' latest tour up for sale
Taylor Swift fan puts contact lenses that have 'seen' latest tour up for sale
A Taylor Swift fan is selling an item for $10,000 - and no it's not a ticket to her highly popular Eras Tour but instead it's an item that has been present at one of the concerts... Contact lenses that have "seen Taylor Swift's Eras Tour" is the item listed for sale on the online marketplace Depop at a jaw dropping price. Those lenses will have seen Swift perform her hits such as 'Anti-Hero,' 'Style,' and 'Shake It Off,' and are listed as "used" but in an "excellent condition." Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Photos on the post-show the two contacts in the palm of a hand, to give prospective Swiftie buyers a look to see if they want the used lenses of the lucky concertgoer. The advert has since gone viral after Pop Tingz shared a screenshot of the advert. Since then, both Swifties and Twitter users, in general, have been reacting to the advert, with some finding the post funny and entertaining while others called it "insane," "stupid," and "embarrassing." But since going viral, the Depop user in question has deleted the advert and added to her bio description: "LMAO IT WAS A JOKE." So she wasn't really going to sell the contact lenses at the hefty price, even if someone wanted them. Though some did joke that the stunt has inspired them to list their contacts for sale after seeing their favourite artist live. Elsewhere, a woman has been condemned as a terrible daughter after choosing to miss her own mother’s wedding to attend a concert. Have your say in our news democracy. Referee in viral Mark Zuckerberg jui-jitsu 'argument' video confirms what happened
Referee in viral Mark Zuckerberg jui-jitsu 'argument' video confirms what happened
Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg surprised people recently after turning up at a jui-jitsu tournament, with footage appearing to show him looking a little unhappy with the result of his bout. The Meta CEO was spotted taking on a fellow competitor in Redwood City in California on Saturday (May 6), and he was eventually pinned after a tussle in the ring. The referee stopped the fight and awarded it to his opponent after believing that Zuckerberg had 'tapped out'. However, the footage suggested Zuckerberg was unhappy with the result and it was changed to a 0-0 draw. Sign up to our new free Indy100 weekly newsletter He did well during the result of the tournament, with the 38-year-old winning gold and silver medals at his first public competition. Now, the referee from the event has spoken and clarified that there was no such “argument”. Referee Lucas Costa, who is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, spoke to bloodyelbow.com and explained what went down. “There was no argument,” said Costa. “It was in Gi and he got choked out. That was the video you saw. I stopped it and he wanted to check with me about why I stopped it. He didn’t know what was happening, which was one of the reasons I stopped it. But he had started to snore and the rule set says that snoring is a version of a verbal tap.” “I was paying a lot of attention,” Costa added. “I was paying even more attention because it was Mark. He got caught in an Ezekiel and I waited, but he didn’t fight back. And I was waiting, but on the third snore I had to stop the fight. He was very polite but he wanted to know how the rules work.” Speaking about the experience of meeting him, Costa said: “Mark’s fight was a surprise… I was impressed though. “He seemed like a normal guy. Looked me in the eye, gave me a firm handshake and an even bigger surprise was that he fights well.” Discussing his fighting style, Costa added: “He goes forward a lot. He attacks more. With very little defence.” Have your say in our news democracy. Click the upvote icon at the top of the page to help raise this article through the indy100 rankings.

Logan Paul confirms 'twisted' way he stole a copy of most 'compelling' UFO video ever
Logan Paul confirms 'twisted' way he stole a copy of most 'compelling' UFO video ever
The speculation is true – Logan Paul has possession of the “best UFO footage ever”, or so he claims. It comes after documentary filmmaker James Fox spoke on The Joe Rogan Experience about a video rumoured to have been uncovered by UFO specialist Chuck Clark around 30 years ago. Fox claimed that the clip shows two men in the Nevada desert encountering a UFO, and he believes that if Paul released the footage it could be key to changing people’s perceptions about alien sightings. Now, Paul has stated that he does indeed have a copy of the video. He claimed that he tried to purchase the footage from Clark for $100,000. After the offer was turned down, he then used a hidden camera to record the footage after he was invited to a screening. Sign up to our new free Indy100 weekly newsletter “What do you want from me bro, I’m a sneaky little f***,” Paul said, describing the incident on his Impaulsive podcast Logan Paul Officially Reveals His UFO Footage! | Joe Rogan & James Fox www.youtube.com “I offered him $100,000 for this tape after I had seen it. Let me tell you this, he should have f***ing taken the money because I got the footage anyway. And I’ll tell you why I did it, because it’s a little twisted of me to put on a small button camera and film UFO footage that isn’t mine.” Paul went on to say: “Here’s the thing though, it’s not his either. It’s not. The people who shot it gave it to him and expected he would keep it hidden for himself. It’s not his footage. He is keeping what I thought at the time, important UFO, alien, extraterrestrial proof in his possession and not showing it. Like, why? I think that is doing a disservice to the world. That’s not going to do it for me, you are being selfish.” Paul said he was “waiting for the right moment”, adding: “I would show the footage to [US conspiracy theorist] Bob Lazar to ask him if he’s seen anything like it and in that case maybe… if he can verify the legitimacy of this tape then maybe I would release it.” “You don’t see the aliens… the footage is compelling, not convincing. It’s from 1995, the tape had been worn down, it’s been played probably over 100 times so the quality is not great, and everything about it screams bulls***.” The YouTuber went on to say: “There is one kind of interesting thing about the video that could prove its validity. When you scrub through the footage forward and back kind of fast… the disc hovers so fluidly, it’s like buoyant almost in the air.” “And I’m not sure if that type of movement… was possible in 1995 VFX editing. It looks too good. It’s the one compelling thing about this video where I’m like, maybe that’s something.” “But I just don’t have enough information at the moment to confidently release this video, unless I can prove that it is somewhat legit, and maybe Bob Lazar can help me.” Have your say in our news democracy. Jake Paul 'fires' reporter for asking a question at Nate Diaz press conference
Jake Paul and Nate Diaz's press conference became heated when a reporter asked a bizarre question that resulted in him being "fired". The event, which took place at American Airlines Arena in Dallas, took an awkward turn when Derrick from Betr Media asked to fight Diaz's brother. "Nate, I'm actually a boxer myself and I have been trying to get on this undercard," he said. "I'm just wondering if you think I could fight your brother, Nick? If he's anything like you, I think I'd beat his f***ing a**." Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Diaz didn't respond to the seemingly lighthearted joke well. Diaz added: "What’s your name?” @phillip.adair Jake Paul Fired his own Reporter Derek #jakepaul #natediaz #fyp #boxing #xyzbca #mustwatch #UFC #dazn #boxing? #reaction #fypシ #wow The reporter and aspiring boxer confessed he was "definitely pretty nervous right now" before reiterating his name and workplace. "Hey, Derrick from Betr Media, you’re a stupid a** motherf****r," Diaz said. "The f**k? You deserve to have your a** whipped." The interaction prompted Paul to intersect, explaining how he worked for his company and that he'd "handle that later." Paul apologised to Diaz, before saying: "I'll fire him later." "Derrick, shut up, shut up," Paul said, prompting him to apologise and take his seat. The footage was soon shared on TikTok, where users chimed in on the action. "It was obviously a joke," one person commented, while another added: "He didn’t even sound confident saying it." The fight is scheduled to take place on August 5 at the American Airlines Arena. KSI calls out the 'stupid profit' of inflated Prime prices on eBay
Since its launch in January 2022, KSI and Logan Paul's Prime Hydration has taken over shelves, social feeds and resale sites. Marketed at £2 a bottle in supermarkets across the UK with some strict 'one per customer' rules, the viral energy drink has since landed in local off-licences and sites such as eBay at a much higher price point. The drink even prompted one diehard fan to create an app dedicated to helping others monitor stock levels after witnessing teens and parents queueing up in the early hours to get their hands on a bottle. In a recent YouTube video, KSI reacted to the inflated Prime prices, with one eBay listing at a staggering £500 ($631). A separate listing saw a single bottle of Prime Lemonade for £148 ($186) with 22 bidders. "That’s why there’s a huge rush to get them… people are making stupid profit," he said. "There’s probably people that actually want to try the drink, but then there are also people that are like, 'yeah, I can make a s*** ton of money.'" "However I fear that not all of the bottles will end up on the shelves due to foul play and opportunists. And I hate to say it but it’s literally impossible to combat that I’m afraid." PewDiePie banned on Twitch despite not even streaming
Internet sensation PewDiePie has been hit with a mysterious Twitch ban – despite not even streaming. The Swedish influencer signed an exclusive deal with YouTube in 2020. However, a random stream appeared on PewDiePie's Twitch account in March, showing old videos and episodes of the Canadian comedy series Trailer Park Boys. PewDiePie's 'return' to the streaming platform left fans scratching their heads, with some speculating it to be a promotion for an upcoming project. Others believed his account was hacked. Dexerto later reported that CoPilotMedia appeared to have taken over the streamer's Twitch channel. Now, PewDiePie's Twitch account has been officially removed from the platform – and people aren't sure why. Instead, Twitch fans are greeted with a notice that reads: "This channel is temporarily unavailable due to a violation of Twitch's Community Guidelines or Terms of Service." Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter It comes after the 33-year-old announced he and his wife, Marzia Bisognin, were expecting a baby. In a February YouTube video shared on PewDiePie's 111 million subscriber-strong channel, the influencer said: "I’ve been keeping a secret from you guys, and that is I’m going to be a dad. "We found out that Marzia is pregnant first in November, and I’m just so thankful everything’s been going so well so far. "I’m so excited. It’s kind of strange to me, it’s entering new territory, but I feel really ready, and so does Marzia.” He added he feels "so lucky" to start a family "with the woman I love", going on to say that he has "absolutely no doubt" that Marzia will be "an amazing mother". Howard Stern brands King Charles a ‘p***y’ and calls the coronation 'disgusting'
Howard Stern brands King Charles a ‘p***y’ and calls the coronation 'disgusting'
Howard Stern has made it clear that he's no royalist after he called King Charles, a "p***y" and slammed the coronation as "disgusting." The American radio host discussed the recent coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla on his Monday show (May 8) where he referred to the royal couple as "vampires" and declared that "England’s got to get a grip on themselves." "I understand maybe it brings in tourism but Jesus H Christ," Stern began, before having some choice words for the newly crowned King Charles. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter "First of all Prince Charles is a p***y. That’s number one. And people are acting – the whole ceremony they’re acting like that f***ing guy went to war or something and then beat up all the other people." "They’re like ‘We swear our allegiance to you and you’re a great warrior,'" Stern added. "I mean the whole thing is f***ing nuts and in this day and age." He went on note the millions being spent on the coronation while the country is currently going through a cost of living crisis. "It was disgusting and I’ll tell you why it’s disgusting," Stern continued. "It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to say this but England’s having its own economic problems and they spent a fortune on that coronation. And it’s just repugnant to watch a country who’s suffering through economic problems and then you see the pomp and circumstance. Though Stern did concede that the royal family brings tourists to the UK. "I’m not naive. I understand that they’ve determined that having a monarchy brings tourists in and provides a flavor to the country and something for people to go see, it’s part of the tourism, I get all that, I’m not naive. But it just sends the wrong message." Meanwhile, Stern wasn't impressed with King Charles and Queen Camilla's pre-recorded cameo on 'American Idol' with judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie who both performed at King's coronation concert, live from Windsor Castle on Sunday (May 7). "I watch ‘American Idol'," Stern said. "And those two showed up – King Charles and King Camilla or whatever she is. Camilla the Queen. King Kong, whoever the f***, showed up there. "And they marched out, they’re like two wooden boards, they’re like vampires, they’re stiff. And Katy Perry and Lionel are talking to them. I thought they were cardboard cut outs at first they wheeled [on]." Previously Stern has spoken out against the British royals before, since last year he didn't seem to be a fan of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix documentary, calling them "whiny b***ches. Katy Perry 'dissing' Meghan Markle's wedding dress resurfaces after coronation gig
Katy Perry's previous comment on the Duchess of Sussex's wedding dress has resurfaced, following her performance at King Charles's coronation concert on Sunday (May 7). The popstar wore a metallic gold ball gown as she took to the stage on the grounds of Windsor Castle to perform her hits including 'Roar' and 'Firework,' which Princess Charlotte could be seen singing along to the former. She was a part of the star-studded lineup that also included Lionel Richie, Take That, Paloma Faith, Olly Murs, Andrea Bocelli and Sir Bryn Terfel. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter As a result of the 38-year-old's royal performance, her comments from back in 2018 have reappeared once more where she gave her honest opinion of the Duchess of Sussex's wedding dress who got married to Prince Harry that same year. “I would have done one more fitting," Perry told Entertainment Tonight, adding that she preferred Princess Kate's dress when she married Prince William back in 2011. "I’m never not going to tell the truth! One more fitting, but I love you. Kate, Kate, Kate won, Kate won!" Meghan wore a Givenchy dress designed by Clare Waight Keller which had a bateau neckline and five-metre-long veil. In comparison Kate's wore an Alexander McQueen gown designed by English designer Sarah Burton, creative director of the luxury fashion house, and the lace design included a V-neckline, long sleeves, a fitted Victorian bodice. However, Perry did go on to wish Meghan and Harry well and also praised Meghan and the humanitarian work she has done. “I’m so happy for them, and, you know, I don’t know them from Adam, but it’s amazing what she’s doing with all this, her humanitarian efforts. You know, the fact that she’s a proud feminist, I love all that," she added. "I support her as another woman and love her and wish them both well.” Have your say in our news democracy. Dixie D’Amelio responds to shocking 'mass shooting' comment about her transparent top
TikToker and singer Dixie D’Amelio received horrendous backlash and is branded a “bad example” for children after wearing a transparent top. D’Amelio is a major star on the social media platform with over 57 million followers and is the older sister of fellow TikTok star Charli D’Amelio. Since breaking up with fellow influencer Noah Beck, the older sister has been through some changes including cutting her previously long hair and replacing it with a buzzcut. But, it was another risky fashion statement that sparked controversy across social media after D’Amelio wore a transparent top that showed her breasts. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter The star was seen in both a TikTok video and an Instagram post wearing the same shirt, igniting comments from critics who claimed she was being a bad role model to her young female followers. D’Amelio captioned the Instagram post, “Darling don’t feel bad for me” and posed in the top along with ripped jeans, dark sunglasses and a black handbag. One comment on the post read: “You know children see this.” Another said: “So unclassy. Hope young girls don’t get ‘influenced’ by this.” In possibly one of the most sickening responses, one Instagram user said they hoped she would be a victim of a mass shooting. The TeaTok Talk account shared screenshots of some of the horrible responses D’Amelio received and some which she replied to. An Instagram user wrote, “Bro your [sic] a bad example”, to which D’Amelio hit back: “I have said from the beginning that I am not a role model. I do me and want to be myself.” Have your say in our news democracy. Click the upvote icon at the top of the page to help raise this article through the indy100 rankings.

MrBeast buys entire street of houses for his staff to live in
YouTuber and philanthropist MrBeast has been quietly buying up properties in a neighbourhood in Greenville, North Carolina for his employees. MrBeast, who real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has built a huge online following beginning his career by sharing gaming content. Now the 25-year-old has 151 million subscribers and regularly shares content of him using and sharing his massive wealth of $54 million to help others, including spending $3 million for 1,000 people in the deaf community to get hearing aids. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter According to the New York Post, MrBeast’s employees are just some of the people who will benefit as the publication reports the YouTuber purchased “five modest and separate homes in the area he grew up in”, concentrated in one cul-de-sac. MrBeast purchased the first house on the street in 2018 for around $320,000. Despite his wealth, it appears the YouTuber has shunned the luxury Hollywood lifestyle he could easily afford, living a more modest lifestyle in his North Carolina home. According to the New York Post, there is just one house on the street that MrBeast doesn’t own, with neighbours potentially attributing it to the fact that the resident’s children have not yet finished school. Aaron Bowden, who sold his house to MrBeast last year, explained: “My understanding is the folks who are holding out is similar to any reason why anyone would have held out — its the best school districts in the area, and they have kids in school.” He continued: “I wouldn’t know anything for a fact because I don’t walk in their shoes, but they may change their minds when their kids are out of high school and off to college.” Bowden had lived in his home since 2016 and said he negotiated with the YouTuber, explaining: “We negotiated back and forth and it had to be worth my while. And he wasn’t gonna buy it if it wasn’t worth his while.” MrBeast’s former neighbour also explained that he had made it known it was his intention to move his family and employees into the homes he was purchasing. 'Awkward' Katy Perry lyric during coronation concert raises eyebrows
The new King's coronation celebrations continued on Sunday with a huge concert at Windsor Castle featuring the likes of Lionel Richie, Olly Murs, Tom Cruise, Take That and Katy Perry. The American songstress, who just the day before had managed to get lost in Westminister Abbey at the actual coronation, wore an amazing gold gown while she belted out two of her classic hits 'Roar' and 'Firework' to the thousands in attendance including the King and Queen. Sign up to our new free Indy100 weekly newsletter While viewers enjoyed Perry's performance there was one moment in her short set which did raise some eyebrows. In 'Firework' Perry sings the line: "You just gotta ignite the light. And let it shine. Just own the night. Like the Fourth of July." For those that need a brief recap of history, the United States celebrates independence day on 4th July, which marks the date that America gained freedom from the British in 1776. One person wrote: "Katy Perry reminding to 'own the night like the 4th of July' ... Um, is that awkward." Another added: "Katy Perry singing about 4th July to the British King is surely an arrestable offence." A third said: "I find it hilarious that Katy Perry sang about "the Fourth of July" at a concert celebrating the coronation of King Charles III." A fourth person joked: "Katy Perry performing Firework and singing “own the night like the Fourth of July” at the coronation of the King of England is lowkey savage." Meanwhile, others joked that Perry had turned up dressed as a toffee penny from a box of Quality Street. Getting lost, referencing the American revolution and looking like a sweet; Katy Perry really did steal the show during the coronation weekend. Have your say in our news democracy.
