Cat owners go 'ballistic' at neighbour who neutered their pet without permission
Cat owners go 'ballistic' at neighbour who neutered their pet without permission
An anonymous person has been absolutely berated by their neighbour after they admitted to having their cat neutered without asking. The admission came in a Reddit post on the site’s Am I The A**hole community, where the person explained what they had done and how it led to their neighbour going “ballistic” at them. In the post, the person explained that they run a trap–neuter–return scheme among local strays and were recently called to an area with a lot of strays. They explained: “They were everywhere and I mostly ended up handing it over to professionals. “I did, however, manage to grab three very sweet cats. Two were terrified, skinny, a little beaten up, but overall friendly. The third one was a little gent.” The person explained that the third male cat had a collar, was tubby and well-groomed, indicating it had an owner. Explaining that they had a choice between locating the cat’s owners and dropping him off, or taking him to get neutered, the poster revealed they did the latter. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter They wrote: “Ultimately I took him with me and got him neutered. No chip so I called the number on his tag and informed them where their cat was and gave them time slots to pick him up or have him dropped off. “The owners went ballistic. They were cursing me out and came to collect their cat not twenty minutes later. Called me a kidnapper, blamed me for their child having nightmares (scared over their cat going missing).” While the person attempted to defend themselves, arguing they “have a duty to care for stray cats”, they didn’t garner a lot of sympathy in the post’s comments. One Redditor argued: “You did kidnap their cat and made a (superbly arrogant) decision to have him neutered without the owner's permission. “You can judge them all you want for letting their cat outside, but the first thing to have done was to call the cat's people and asked ‘Hey, I found your cat. Did you know he was outside?’ That's the basic due diligence, right there.” However, another Redditor also argued that while the original poster was in the wrong, the owners were also being irresponsible for letting their unneutered male cat out of the house. They wrote: “Everyone sucks here. The owners for letting an intact pet outside unsupervised to breed, and you for having a surgical medical procedure done to an animal (that you KNEW had owners) without the owner’s consent. “Regardless of the morality of allowing pets to contribute to the stray population (for which the owner is an a**hole), making medical decisions for someone else's pet makes you a massive a**hole.” Have your say in our news democracy. Influencer criticised for laughing at housekeeper cleaning up dog poo
A Spanish influencer is in hot water after posting a video of herself laughing as her father's housekeeper picked up dog poo. Gloria Camilla Ortega has since deleted the post she made earlier this week but it has since circulated online as the clip has caused backlash. In the video, Ortega is out on a walk with one of her pet dogs along with housekeeper, Marina and the 27-year-old asks her to pick up her pet's feces. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter “How does it feel Marina?” Ortega asks Marina who is reaching down to pick up the poo. “A bit warm,” Marina replied. “Very good,” the influencer commented and then informed the housekeeper that there are two more pieces of excrement to collect .Ortega can also be heard laughing just before the video ends. Reddit - Dive into anything from antiwork People have since slammed Ortega, accusing her of "humiliating" the housekeeper and calling her "vile," and "narcissistic" for making the video. Since then, Ortega - who is the daughter of Spanish bullfighter José Ortega Cano and the late singer Rocío Jurado - has responded to the hate in a new post on Thursday (May 25) to her 840,000 Instagram followers. Some of the images include herself and Marina sat together with smiley faces. “I am beginning to find your comments about Marina unbearable," she wrote in Spanish. Ortega also fired back at those calling her "classist," by accusing them of being the same. “The first classists are you,” she declared. “If I had done it with another person, friend or someone who did not ‘work for my father’ you would have taken it differently.” She then went on to describe her close relationship with Marina. “Marina is much more than an ’employee,'” she declared. “Marina is family, Marina is love, Marina is joy, she is my handkerchief, and she is like a second mother to me and I love her very much. And only those who know us know that.” Though the comment section on the video remains divided, with some still criticising the influencer. One person wrote: "How little humility you have." "I would never do that not even with my family, it's called education, respect, values etc" another person said. Someone else added: "What a way to justify yourself more poop." But also received messages of support from followers too. "If I were you, I wouldn't give these people a minute!" one person said. Another person wrote: "Don't mind them Gloria Camila. They don't give up anymore. I know what Marina means to you and your family. I love it. Looks like a very good person and very loyal." "We are with you always!!" someone else commented. She joked that ‘they didn’t try to contact me in anyway before I was born to see if I actually wanted to be here.’ The TikTok has currently over 2 million views and almost 20,000 comments. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Theaz spoke about this in a TikTok that discussed why she herself had children if she sued her parents for having her without her permission. She added: "if you are pregnant right now you need to go you need to hire a psychic medium and ask if they actually wanna be here." @isatandstared Replying to @JCNCLP Viewers who didn’t realise Theaz’s account was satire were confused, with one user commenting: ‘is this real?’ Others left comments such as: ‘you need help,’ ‘please tell me you’re joking,’ ‘now they’re teaching children to sue their parents for money so they don’t have to grow up and work?’ However, many were quick to catch on that Theaz was joking, and once they did, they appreciated the laugh. ‘Best laugh I’ve had all day,’ said one user. Controversial TikToker 'Mizzy' blamed for disrupting Sidemen's charity match in 2022
Controversial TikToker 'Mizzy' blamed for disrupting Sidemen's charity match in 2022
Controversial TikToker Mizzy has been in the headlines recently, and now it’s been claimed that he was behind the disruptions to last year’s Sidemen charity match. The Sidemen were forced to apologise to people with tickets who weren’t able to get into the stadium for the Sidemen Charity Match on September 24. “Unfortunately however due to a small minority attempting to break into the stadium, we were forced to lock the gates meaning a number of you weren’t able to get in despite having tickets,” they said at the time. They said the choice to lock the gates and block some fans “was a security and safety decision.” Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Now, Stuart Jones, who is the founder of Upload Agency and Sidemen's agent, has claimed that it was Mizzy who was responsible. Writing on Twitter, he said: “For those of you who were locked out of the @Sidemen charity match last year, this was the moron that caused it btw.” Jones also claimed that Mizzy, real name Bacari-Bronze O'Garro, stole Prime Hydration drinks from VIP suites and tried to break into the stadium. "Correct, and robbing the VIP suits of all the Prime, and running around outside, trying to break in, causing the stadium to lock down,” Jones wrote, replying to another user. Footage has also recirculated online which shows Mizzy run on the pitch during the game. Mizzy was recently arrested for filming himself walking into people's houses. He also branded Piers Morgan a 'moron' for challenging him over his behaviour on his show, which saw him intimidate members of the public, including stealing someone's dog in a park. Hours before this interview, O’Garro appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a community protection notice issued last May. As a result he was given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) today for a period of two years that will expire in May 2025. This order means O’Garro must not publish social media content without the consent of the people included, nor trespass or go to the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford. Another boat got stuck in the Suez Canal and the internet couldn't cope
Another boat got stuck in the Suez Canal in Egypt, sparking a whole host of memes about the situation online. The Suez Canal is one of the busiest shipping routes in the world, with approximately 30 per cent of the world’s shipping container volume passing through it, meaning that any boat that gets stuck there can cause a huge ripple effect on the delivery of goods worldwide. This impact was demonstrated in March 2021, when the infamous container ship, Ever Given, blocked the canal for six days after running aground. Now, the busy canal has been blocked by the grounded Xin Hai Tong 23 ship – a 189 metre-long Hong Kong-flagged carrier, according to Leth Shipping Agency. Compared to the Ever Given, the ship was freed relatively quickly by two tugs, though, at one point, there are believed to have been four vessels stuck behind it. News that another ship had temporarily been stuck in the canal was enough to set social media users off with some hilarious memes and reactions. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter With the Suez Canal around 200 metres wide at its narrowest point, another simply asked: “Nas anyone thought of making the Suez Canal a bit bigger?” Someone else joked: “The Suez Canal holding yet another boat in its warm embrace & you are waiting for a text back that is never going to come.” Have your say in our news democracy. The controversial Australian MAFS contestant took to the platform on Wednesday (24 May) debuting his bizarre hack using the handheld device. "[Girlfriend Aimee Woolley] always get these packages because she’s an influencer," he explained while showing a sex toy to the camera. He turned the device on before adding: "This is like, this really cool milk frother," "You just pump it up. It gets a nice little buzz going and you just put it in your milk [and it] gets it all nice and frothy. He candidly continued: "It makes the milk taste a bit weird though. I don’t know what’s up with that but it froths it well." Wells went on to encourage followers to "try it". Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter It comes after one adult company launched a recycling scheme dubbed 'The Second Coming', in which Brits send in their used sex toys. The metals, plastics, circuit boards, etc, will be separated and sent to specialised facilities for further processing, where the materials can eventually be reused in new products. Even more impressively, the Natural Love Company will accept sex toys from any brand – while working alongside a recycling partner. The company’s own products are reportedly made from 100% recycled ocean plastic. “We are delighted to officially introduce The Second Coming recycling scheme and we hope that it will be seen as extremely useful by sex toy owners across the UK,” Ben Foster, co-founder and director of The Natural Love Company told Jam Press. The infamous 'Taured man from a parallel universe’ mystery explained
The infamous 'Taured man from a parallel universe’ mystery explained
Throughout history, there have been occasional little mysteries that have centered around supposed “time travellers” claiming to be from parallel dimensions. One occurred in Ukraine back in 2006, which saw a man claiming to be from years in the past turn up in Kyiv without much in the way of explanation. Another centres around the man who tried to pass himself off as being from the non-existent country of Taured and hailing ‘from a parallel universe’. There are various stories that centre on the man from Taured, with many claiming the urban legend to be fact. The story goes that back in July 1954 a Caucasian man with a beard arrived at Haneda Airport, also known as Tokyo International Airport. After security staff grew suspicious of his identity, the passport check showed that a country called “Taured” was listed as his nationality. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter “Taured”, of course, doesn’t exist. However, the man stated it had been a nation for more than 1,000 years and pointed at Andorra on the map, claiming it was located there. The Man From Taured www.youtube.com Amid the confusion, the man was taken to a hotel and put in a room. Two guards were placed outside the room until security staff were able to further investigate. Only, when the room was later opened, the man was missing. What was especially baffling was that the police established that he could not have escaped via his window as the room was too high up and there was no balcony. While many online believe the story to be gospel truth, the fact of the matter is that the truth behind the story is something much more mundane. As Snopes reports, the tale is a “greatly embellished and fantastical version of a far less sensational real story”. In reality, the site states that the story was likely inspired by the real figure of John Allen Kuchar Zegrus who presented a fake passport from the state of “Tuarid” and was swiftly arrested in Japan in 1959. While little detail is known about him, it’s thought that the man used the fake passport to travel through the Middle East before he was arrested and sentenced to a year in prison after cashing forged cheques in Japan. Painting from 1937 shows man using an 'iPhone'
Painting from 1937 shows man using an 'iPhone'
A painting from 1937 has people wondering if time travel is real after it seemingly shows a Native American man using an "iPhone" while doing the "Sorry, I have to take this call" hand gesture. The painting called Mr. Pynchon and the Settling of Springfield was created by Italian artist Umberto Romano. It depicts a colonist and founder of Springfield, Massachusetts, William Pynchon, amid the city's development. Pynchon eventually went on to write The Meritorious Price of Our Redemption in 1650, the first book to ever be banned in Boston and burned in the Boston Common, as noted in the Smithsonian's National Postal Museum. Interestingly, Vice reported that Pynchon was an ancestor of the acclaimed and elusive novelist Thomas Pynchon. This is all intriguing stuff, but what really captures the attention is that a Native American man in the image seemed to encounter a message that took him by surprise. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter The image has been shared on social media with some commentary on Reddit with some concocting scenarios about the Native American and the man tied up behind him. "Looks like they are going through the tied-up guy's browser history. Thinking maybe we should untie him. He seems to be into this kinda thing," one wrote. Another added: "Sure as hell does. Including the look on guy's face, like he just saw his most recent post got downvoted into oblivion." Other people on Twitter jokingly tried to figure out what "kind" of iPhone the man was using in the picture. "Is it a gold iPhone?" one asked, while someone else added, "Space Grey?" Romano, the artist of the painting, crafted another piece of artwork that looks like a woman watching something on an iPad, despite it being painted several decades before the technology had been created. A possible explanation for the smartphone-appearing device in the Mr.Pynchon painting could be a hand mirror, a popular trade item to use. He could also be examining an axe head. Groom exposes wife's affair with best man in furious wedding speech
A groom has been hailed a "legend" for his well-timed exposé of his cheating partner. In an episode of the popular podcast, The Unfiltered Bride, wedding planners Georgina and Beth shared the shocking story of how one man got the ultimate revenge on his wedding day. Georgie recalled the story allegedly told by a third party. She explained: "[The] groom stands up and says ‘Just before I like properly get started, there’s envelopes coming round now, if you could all open them up." He then went on to reportedly tell the guests: "'Yeah, those are pictures of the bride f***ed the best man, so I’ll be leaving now.'" The man then reportedly stormed out with his family. What a legend," another chimed in, while a third commented: "Well, I'm getting a big slice of cake, taking my gift card back, and heading out." It comes after a scientist from the University of Oxford revealed the key signs that your partner could be cheating on you. Among the hints are social media secrets, new vanity and avoiding speaking about a specific person. He went on to suggest that men "want more partners for the sake of having more partners."
