Tim Robbins has brutal response to Trump supporter who claimed they 'hanged out'
The Shawshank Redemption actor Tim Robbins had a brutally honest response to a conservative author who claimed on Twitter the two ‘hanged out.’ Nick Adams, an Australian-born American Trump supporter, has written numerous books, with his most recent titled The Most Dangerous President in History, written about Joe Biden. Other books of Adams include Trump and Churchill: Defenders of Western Civilisation and Retaking America: Crushing Political Correctness. Adams tweeted a picture of him and Robbins on Friday with the caption ‘hanging out with Tim Robbins at JFK.’ Robbins responded to the tweet by quoting it, adding : ‘not ‘hanging out.’ Dude asked for a picture. I obliged. He left.’ Robbins’ response gained so much attention that Twitter added a community note to Adams’ original tweet that read: ‘According to Tim Robbins, they were not hanging out. When asked to take a photo, Robbins obliged.’ Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Many Twitter users loved Robbins’ harsh honesty: Adams didn’t seem to be too happy about Robbins’ clarification, and the piling laughter at his expense. He went on to call Robbins a ‘woke Hollywood liberal.’ Adams Twitter profile proudly displays his belief that he’s an ‘Alpha Male’. As well as his pinned tweet reading: ‘Yes, I am more successful and attractive than you. No, I will not be apologizing for it.’ Have your say in our news democracy. Dude Perfect break world record for highest basketball shot
Dude Perfect break world record for highest basketball shot
The record for the highest basketball shot to be made has been absolutely annihilated by Dude Perfect in an unbelievable clip. Dude Perfect is a group known for its incredible trick shots and has recently added to its repertoire of stunning feats after making a basketball shot from 855 feet in the air. The stunt breaks the record for the World’s Highest Basketball Shot and was achieved from the top of The Strat – the tallest building on the Las Vegas Strip. The team was given three days to complete the challenge and took it right to the wire, making it on the third day of trying. With their successful shot made, it added close to 200 feet to the existing world record. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter A clip of the successful shot was shared on Twitter, while, in a longer video on their YouTube channel, the group explained how it was achieved. The team comprised Tyler Toney, twins Cory and Coby Cotton and Garrett Hilbert, who were assisted by a whole host of others, including chief creative officer, Ryan Britton. Britton helped design a 10,000-square-foot net system that would catch the basketballs and protect the rooftop. The first attempt missed the roof entirely, landing about 50 yards away and multiple more attempts missed the net by a large margin due to high winds. World's Highest Basketball Shot www.youtube.com On the second day of attempts, the team considered cancelling the challenge altogether over safety concerns but persevered until the seemingly-impossible challenge was completed on the third and final day. American streamer confronted on Japanese subway after ranting about Hiroshima
American streamer confronted on Japanese subway after ranting about Hiroshima
An American streamer who was harassing strangers on the subway in Japan on a live stream got confronted twice by members of the public who weren’t having any of it. Streamer JohnnySomali filmed himself via Kick onboard a subway train in Japan, where he started a rant about Hiroshima and Nagasaki, implying that he would drop atomic bombs on the Japanese cities again as the US did in August 1945 during World War II. JohnnySomali harassed strangers riding the subway, shouting that America would "destroy" Japan again because "you don't know how to behave". In the video, other passengers could be seen moving away from JohnnySomali as he intentionally caused a scene while live-streaming himself on the train. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter It was at the point when JohnnySomali was standing over a passenger repeatedly saying, “Hiroshima, Nagasaki, you know? We’re going to do it again” that the streamer was confronted by another American passenger who had heard enough. The passenger approached the streamer and suggested, “Why don’t you just leave him alone?”, telling him he was “being obnoxious”. The man confronting JohnnySomali told him he was from Texas and told him to “sit your a** down”. But the confrontation didn’t stop there as, while he was streaming while walking on the street, a biker recognised JohnnySomali and confronted him over comments he had made in his earlier stream. The biker could be heard asking the streamer, “You said Pearl Harbour?”, while JohnnySomali protested his innocence, responding: “I don’t say nothing. Nothing bro.” The biker called JohnnySomali a “punk” while the streamer made an attempt to quell the situation, suggesting, “We’re good”. JohnnySomali appeared scared by the situation and backed away from the man during the non-violent confrontation. The streamer claimed someone paid him to say the comments about Hiroshima and Nagasaki on the subway. He claimed it was a “joke” and apologised to the man. Have your say in our news democracy. Taylor Swift fan who missed out on tickets gets job as concert security instead
Getting tickets to Taylor Swift's Era Tour was a struggle for a lot of fans, but one Swiftie was a real "mastermind" by devising a solution to ensure he didn't miss out. Davis Perrigo, an accountant (and a big TS fan) from Nashville was so determined to see the popstar live that he applied to become a security guard at Swift's Nashville concert. Although Perrigo was unable to use his phone to film while doing the job and had to face the crowd as part of the role, it didn't stop him for belting out the lyrics to Swift's biggest hits, which one concertgoer managed to video. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter In the TikTok, posted by Ryan Bailey (@sobaditsgoodwithryanb), that was sent in by one of his listeners called Leah, Perrigo can be seen facing the crowd but simultaneously (and passionately) singing his heart to 'I Knew You Were Trouble.' "Loved this video one of my listeners Leah sent where a security guard gives Taylor a run for her money at one of her Nashville shows!" the caption read. The video has since gone viral with 6.9m views, 1.2m likes, along with thousands of comments who loved Perrigo's enthusiasm. @sobaditsgoodwithryanb Loved this video one of my listeners Leah sent where a security guard gives Taylor a run for her money at one of her Nashville shows! #taylorswift #taylornation #swiftie #swifttok One person wrote: "He was in front of section E night one. He knew all the songs." "Davis is me. I am Davis," another person said. A third added: "He was just so excited to be there and I’m happy for him." "Give this man a raise she's right there and he didn't look back once," a fourth person commented. Someone else replied: "Ryan Reynolds just wanted a unique experience of the show," noting that he looked like the Deadpool actor. “I’ve been to all sorts of sporting events, this was the loudest I’ve ever heard it,” Perrigo told News Channel 5, describing the crowd as “ unbelievably loud." He noted how at one point he was- “reprimanded” by Swift’s security, where he was instructed to “take it down a notch.” “My wife, she jokes that I sing Taylor Swift songs with such passion for someone who’s never been broken up with,” Perrigo said. All in all, he says it was "a blessing that I didn’t get tickets," after working one of the coolest jobs. Have your say in our news democracy. Woman who found an '8k couch' on the street sparks viral debate about bed bugs and knock offs
Woman who found an '8k couch' on the street sparks viral debate about bed bugs and knock offs
A woman has sparked a debate across social media after finding an abandoned couch on the street and taking it back to her apartment. Creator Amanda Joy posted a TikTok of the ‘dream couch’ she had found on the street in New York showing the process of getting it into her apartment. Joy believed the couch to be the $8,000 ‘Bubble’ couch from French brand Roche Bobois. Posted on Saturday, the TikTok now has over 40 million views, and over 4 million likes. The rest of the TikTok showed Joy’s dad picking up the couch in his van and the process of cleaning the couch, before moving it into her apartment. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter However, the now viral TikTok has led to some saying the couch is a fake, and others being concerned about bed bugs. User @boymolish shared the TikTok to Twitter with the caption ‘WHY TF AM I NEVER THIS LUCKY’, and the Tweet had many saying that Joy had not cleaned it enough: Some argued that if you throw an 8k coach on the street there has to be an reason, implying that there was something wrong with it. But some disagreed, saying if you’re rich enough, it’s not a big deal to give away such expensive items for free. Others did some digging and argued that it wasn’t an authentic ‘Bubble’ couch, with one Twitter user comparing the material of the couch Joy now had in her apartment, to the one on the website. As a result of the growing debate around her TikTok, Joy posted an update video, specifically responding to a comment that said ‘it looks so good but I’m SO SCARED about it being BED BUG CENTRAL.’ Joy shared with users that the couch was outside on the street for less than 24 hours. She added that they let the couch sit in her dad’s workshop for over two weeks to ensure they couldn’t see any bed bugs. Joy also told viewers that the reason she thought it had been thrown out is because it has ‘a lot of rips,’ which she has covered with pillows, and ‘has some stains.’ At the end of the video, Joy also showed the tag, ‘for anyone who wants to tell me it’s fake.’ Some viewers were still convinced it wasn’t clean enough, suggesting she should get it professionally cleaned and reupholstered. Whilst others said as long as Joy was happy with it, they didn’t care. Have your say in our news democracy. Have people forgotten how to skip? Yes, according to a viral TikTok challenge
With the invention of phones, gaming consoles and other devices that keep us inside, the wholesome days of playing outside carefree seem to be drifting further away. So much so, that it appears some adults have forgotten how to skip. You know… the thing you used to do as kids around the playground, where you move forward hopping from one leg to another. Thanks to many on TikTok recording their hilarious attempts to try and skip again, the activity is now trending on the platform. What is the Skip Challenge that people are posting on TikTok? Skipping has gone viral on TikTok thanks to multiple videos showing people’s failed attempts at trying it, with the hashtags #skipchallenge and #forgothowtoskip. In the clips, typically a person is being filmed while having an attempt at doing it, with some hilarious results. In one video that has been viewed over 5.3 million times, TikToker Trina Kay tested her son-in-law’s skipping skills and it didn’t go well. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter @trinakaydesigns I asked my son-in-law if he remembered how to skip. Here is attempt #1.... #forgothowtoskip #howtoskip #growingupsucks Rather than skip, the man appeared to do more of a prance, leaving Kay and many viewers of the clip in hysterics. Another video that has been viewed 8.7 million times showed a TikToker’s manager bravely doing his failed skipping attempt in front of the whole office. @nickelback_loves_u Thought this “forgot how to skip” trend was a joke. I was mistaken 😂. @Morris-Jenkins #forgothowtoskip #howtoskip #funnyvideos #trending #skipchallenge #fypシ They captioned the clip: “Thought this ‘forgot how to skip’ trend was a joke. I was mistaken.” According to the many failures posted on the platform, it appears we have lost our child-like joy. But, some are trying to recapture it by skipping for the first time in decades. @maryborderskennedy #skip #skippinginstyle #skipchallenge #pawpawsteve In the comments, one person wrote: “This is so funny. I just tried skipping for the first time in probably 30 years. It's not easy to do.” Have your say in our news democracy. Man branded a 'stalker' for sending his girlfriend 'creepy' CCTV images
Man branded a 'stalker' for sending his girlfriend 'creepy' CCTV images
A woman has been urged to leave her boyfriend after she admitted that his attempt at being “cute” left her feeling uncomfortable. In a lengthy Reddit post, the 28-year-old said that her partner (who is 11 years her senior) managed to locate her in CCTV footage and then sent her the images. She explained that she works remotely and likes to take her laptop to a nearby mall with an indoor botanical garden. “One day I told him I was there, and then later he texted me several photos that made me feel uncomfortable,” she recounted. Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter “The photos were stills from security footage from cameras around the mall. The pictures were me at a coffee shop, walking, and working on my laptop. “I don’t know how he accessed the security footage system, he doesn’t work in a field even remotely related to security,” she continued. “Receiving these pictures made me feel weird, and I sent him a direct message saying to not do it again. “I know he intended for this to be flattering or ‘cute’ but…..it didn’t feel cute. It was an awkward and uncomfortable situation to be in and we didn’t talk about it beyond that.” However, she said the matter came up several months later when they were discussing unresolved conflicts in their relationship. “I brought that up as an example of something that upset me and was never addressed,” the 28-year-old wrote. “I told him it wasn’t cute and felt invasive.” She went on: “He told me that by sending him a direct text that day saying not to do it again, that I had ‘lost my s**t’ on him just to make him seem like a creep, and I was ‘delusional’ for being upset. “He said he talked about it with friends and they said it was actually cute and I was basically being overly critical or harsh.” This wasn’t an opinion shared by fellow Redditors, hundreds of whom flocked to offer the original poster (OP) their support. “Your boyfriend is old enough to be your father, stalking you, and gaslighting you when you feel uncomfortable. RUN,” one reccomended. The OP replied: “Thank you! [I don't know] why it’s so tough for some people to simply say 'oh I’m sorry, I didn’t intend for it to come across that way, I made a misjudgment' and then just apologise and move on. Instead of getting into this gaslighty territory of telling someone they’re ‘delusional’ for having their emotions.” “Because he’s an emotionally immature almost-50-year-old,” a second commentator responded. “That’s why he’s dating someone 20 years his junior - he’s hoping you’re not mature enough to recognise how much of a red flag his behaviour is.” Others questioned how the 49-year-old had managed to get his hands on the footage in the first place. “How exactly does he have access to the cameras to begin with?” one asked. “It’s not like security footage is public; it adds a whole layer of illegality to what he’s doing.” “I would also be contacting the local police/ owners of the property where the surveillance cameras are based/ security company and telling them that information was being used this way…,” said another. “Be ready to slap him with a restraining order since he is already stalking you and illegally accessing cameras to do so - keep the pictures for proof,” added a third. While a fourth stressed: “This is a breach of your privacy, OP. This guy is the delusional one. Do not ignore this red flag – it’s controlling and abusive behaviour.” The OP responded by trying to reassure her defenders that her boyfriend’s initial act wasn’t as bad as it seemed. “I believe it was unspeakably obtuse/dumb/lacked any awareness, but not intended to be malicious or controlling,” she wrote. “However, stonewalling me after I said he had crossed the line instead of talking about it, acknowledging he had messed up and apologising, then later outright refusing to empathise with my discomfort when I brought it up again and telling me my emotions were ‘delusional’ is all out of line.” Have your say in our news democracy. Parents justify charging their daughter rent to live at home two weeks after she finished school
Charging family members rent can be awkward at the best of times. However, one mum and dad took things to extremes by making their daughter contribute financially just two weeks after she finished school. Erika and Cody Archie divided opinion on TikTok after sharing a video about making their 19-year-old daughter Kylee pay board. The couple shared details of their family dynamic on their ranch with their hundreds of thousands of followers. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter They admitted that they decided to charge Kylee $200 a month in rent within a fortnight of her graduation from high school. @bar7ranch How do you feel about making your adult children pay rent to live at home? This is a REPOST from last year but since its on Fox Business News right now we thought we’d chat about it again! #Parenting #ParentsChargingRent #AdultChildren #DryHumor #Sarcasm #MarriageHumor #Marriage #CoupleTok #RanchTok #AgTok #KeepRanchin #KingOfTikTok #RanchLife #Ranch "Our thought together is that since [Kylee] has graduated I told her... 'June 1st, our rent's due if you continue to live here'," Cody said in a TikTok posted last year, which has been recirculating online. "I thought that was a little harsh, I mean maybe a little leeway," Erika added. "200 bucks a month is plenty cheap to live like a grub in your parents' house,” Cody added. "That's cheaper than she eats in food. We think it teaches them a good lesson in paying bills,” Erika also said. People in the comments section were divided, with one saying: “A definite no for me… I know it’s rare, but I will forever help my kids… no matter the age.” One more said: “There was a couple times where I had to move back home and my oldest daughter was little. We helped and gave my parents money. I think it depends on.” “Right out of high school seems harsh. 18 year olds are still just kids at that age. Maybe take the rent and put it in an account and give it to her,” another added. Have your say in our news democracy.
